It still works when I put batteries in it and switch it on-I can hear it run, however the paper does not advance and it may be out, or has come off the rollers. Its a recent estate find and will work on battery or a/c power as you can see, though there was no a/c adapter with it. The battery box has a little corrosion in it from batteries left in it too long-I cleaned the terminals and put batteries in it and switched it on. The red light does not light up, though it may be just to indicate low batteries. What you see is what is included. Its condition is very good with nothing cracked or broken. Heath Servo-Recorder, Model 20B Strip-Chart Recorder
This is a classic vintage Heath Servo-Recorder in remarkably good condition. It actually still works. But could use a bit of tweaking by someone familiar with electronics to get it to top-performing condition. The schematic diagram is included, and the manual is available on the internet. This uses ordinary fiber-tip pens, and comes with a full roll of chart paper, which is also still available on the internet. It has 6 full-scale sensitivities from 10 mv F.S. to 250 mv F.S. 12 digital chart speeds are selectable, from 0.5 in/hr to 12 in/min. This unit was factory manufactured and sold for $295 back around 1970, which made it the least expensive strip-chart recorder at the time. It powers up as you can see and I was able to toggle around in the various settings a bit. So it would appear to be functional. HOWEVER. During the course of my playing around it appeared to be trying to print, but nothing was ever actually printed on the paper. You can find a copy of the manual for the thing here on the Omega website. I looked through that enough to see that the print head might need to be replaced. As the ink comes preloaded in the head and is not something you can buy separately. It’s also possible that a cap is in place. The battery box has a little corrosion in it from batteries left in it too long-I cleaned the terminals and put batteries in it and switched it on. The red light does not light up, though it may be just to indicate low batteries. What you see is what is included. Its condition is very good with nothing cracked or broken. Model A, Serial No. 366 and using Chart Rolls A. There are Six, Never Used Rolls in Boxes marked Paper No. Style A from Rust Industrial Co. Inc. 130 Silver St. Manchester, N.H. No Zip Code in the address, which would date the rolls before 1964. I have Three Chart Speed Controls. In my First and Second Pictures you will see two of these Chart Speed Controls in the bottom. Left corner area. They are made of steel with brass gears. The Control, on the right, runs 15 inches in an hour. It is stamped"15" near the right, round puzzle piece. Now near the brass wheel, it ... moreis stamped PUSH TO RELEASE with an arrow under the works, pointing to the left. I show the other side looking at the Control on the left. It is stamped"3" for 3 inches of movement on the strip chart paper every hour. This Rustrak Chart Recorder has a"1" stamped on the side so the Chart moves 1 inch per hour. It is stamped"1" on the aluminum plate. Seen in my Fifth Picture. Looking at my First and Third Pictures you will see the Unusual Plug. There are six prongs. Notice the aluminum plate in my Fifth Picture again. On the right side you will see the numbered rectangle that represents the plug. Below you see that No. 1 and 2 are for the Meter and so on. The Last. No. 6 does not have anything to the right. That prong on the plug is not used in this Rustrak Recorder. Looking at my pictures you will notice the reflections of the red toy tractor. It shows you the Outside is Shiny and in Good Condition. I plugged in the A.C. Plug. Looking at my First Picture. The Front of the Recorder above the Milliamperes Scale, an aluminum bar started to raise and lower. This Recorder's two bare wires were not connected to anything, so the needle wouldn't be r

Rustrak Panel Mount Compact 120 VAC Analog Strip Chart Recorder 0-100 mV Range Was used monitoring stack emissions for Optical Density/ Light Transmission- log and linear ranges. Obviously I can't guarantee this vintage electromechanical item. But it ran when I applied power to the gearmotor- the chart paper advanced and the needle tapper merrily t icked away. I applied 60 mV to the movement and the needle deflected correctly. It seems to work properly! The face measures about 3-5/8" x 5-5/8" and about 4" deep.
