From what I have found out from my collection and the web. He was a conductor with the New York Central Railroad and an avid sportsman. He sold prints, as well as made them for himself. I have not found any evidence of copyrights. He was an amazing photographer with a great eye and skills. Many of his photos show great depth of field and striking poses and subjects. Many are of Trains. Animals, People, Mountains and Lakes of Upstate New York, and more. I have both positive prints and many more negatives. There may be a print.
