I did load up the rig in the transmit mode around 7.200 MHz and at 500 ma plate current I measured 225 watts output utilizing my Bird Wattmeter with a 250 watt slug. While this unit appears to work I don't feel comfortable in representing it as eBay"USED" It's been stored at some point in time in a dirty non-air-conditioned environment. Photos of the top chassis confirm this due to the dirty condition. I recommend the tubes all be pulled. Cleaned, tested, replaced ... morewhere required and then the transceiver be re-aligned. All voltages tested, everything works great. There is some light wear on cabinet due to years of being in a hamshack, but no dents or other major damage. 100% operational for 14 days. Vintage cabinet for a Collins 516F-2 HF transmitter power supply for amateur radio use in fair to good physical condition. Measures approx. 6.5 x 10 x 11.5" and a 5 x 7" oval Radio Shack speaker has been added using 4 screws through the front grille. Has a USGI surplus look with a probable semi-flat looking respray job at some point in the past. The top of the cabinet is a study of minor bends and undulations but all seem to be under the paint which suggests a prior life of military use and rough handling. There is also a slight upward bend in the bottom plate at the back of the cabinet(see lower RH corner in the photo) The speaker has a short interconnect cable terminating in a RCA type plug and works and sounds great. It could be removed to return the front panel to stock as reproduction grilles and the backing paper are available ... moreelsewhere for reasonable prices. Other than the grille. Did not notice any other extra holes or modifications. The trim ring is metal and there are no"feet" on this particular cabinet. The CPN 544-2867-005 is still visible near the back edge. Believe that this was purchased from one of the surplus dealers at Dayton a while ago. From a non-smoking home and shipping is $19.99 for UPS Ground to 48 states. GLOBE V-10 HAM RADIO VFO 160-6 METERS with BUILT IN POWER SUPPLY
Globe V-10 Amateur Radio VFO This is a ham band VFO covering from 160 to 6 meters. It has a built in self-contained power supply. This was built to match the HG-303 transmitter but of course it will work with any small transmitter. It is a very attractive unit with colored lamps indicating each band selection. It is very clean unit. Inside and out, with just a few marks on the top of the cabinet. From a non smoking home. I have used it with a DX-40, an Eico 720, and a Heath AT-1. I replaced the original selenium rectifiers with silicon diodes and the filter capacitors were also replaced while leaving the original can in place. This change is documented on the schematic in the included double sided copy of the manual and is visible in the below chassis photo. The upgrades were done about 5 years ago. It has been sitting on a shelf for a few ... moreyears but I just powered it up on the bench and could hear the output on all bands in a nearby receiver. Except 6 meters which I did not check. I also bench checked it with a DX-40 and it had adequate grid drive on 40 and 80. No other testing was done. As with all vintage electronic equipment it is sold"AS IS" and without warranty of any kind. But it is as described. Weighs 9 lbs before packing and will be shipped via well packed UPS.
