Very good condition used HP/Agilent 6031A power supply. Tested and works well. These supplies are rock solid performers. You can see the voltage and current of the actual unit up for sale running a small load in the pics. This item was used in a working environment, controlled with HPIB interface, and never run over 250 watts. Configured to run on 240 volts but easily switched to run on 120 volt. Comes with rack mount handles, both plastic back covers, a new power cord with 240v plug, and a copy of current manual. Face plate has some residue from a sticker. Sells for over $6K new. For auction is a used and seller refurbished HP 6299A DC power supply rated at 0-100VDC and 0-75A. The unit has been load tested and ripples measured. The current limiting potentiometer has both coarse and fine adjusts. As seen in the accompanying photos, the voltage could go up to 132VDC and current could reach 0.9A(although not both at the same time and I would not recommended using the power supply much above manufacturer's specs) Two defective electrolytic capacitors have been replaced. The ripple is below 2mV(see oscilloscope photo) The meter switch contacts have been cleaned and works well. The meter is highly accurate(see photos comparing with digital meter readings) The unit is in good physical and cosmetic condition although one of the rubber feet on the bottom is missing. HP 6448B variable DC Power Supply, 600V at 1.5A for repair
The photos show an output of 143V into a 500-ohm load. There is no change in voltage when the load is removed. Or when the AC is varied, so this unit is regulating. The problem is that the voltage cannot be adjusted above 143V. Included in this auction is an original service manual, in which are instructions for troubleshooting low voltage. I inspected the inside of the unit carefully and did not find, or smell, any burned or overheated components. Sold as is.

I was able to adjust the voltage, but every time I pressed the"Output On/Off" button, it looked like the voltage would start to rise, but then the"Prot" arrow on the display illuminated, and the voltage sank back to zero. Agilent HP 6281A DC Power Supply 0-7.5V 0-5A with Option 011
For auction is one used HP 6281A DC power supply 0-7.5V 0-5A. With Option 011(crowbar) I replaced the line cord that was severed near the inlet, each of the three wires was soldered together and insulated with heat shrink tubing with an outer heat shrink tubing around the entire splice. Other than the line cord, the power supply is in good physical and cosmetic condition, and electrically performs well. The metering switch contacts were cleaned when I first acquired the power supply and has performed without any problem since. The voltage and current limit adjustments both have coarse and fine controls and all the knobs are intact. I have tested the power supply with 6 Volts and a 1 ohm resistor(6 amps) Photos show several other testing conditions. The load resistors in the photos are 1 ohm, 1% and 50W ratings. Unit functions perfectly and was recently calibrated internally to verified voltage and current using a Fluke Multimeter. Last time it was NIST calibrated was in 99- but these power supplies are 100% reliable constant duty always on supplies. No fans to go bad but instead massive aluminum heat fins in the back. This is not your modern high frequency switching power supply. It a solid old skool power supply originally designed for audio and especially electron tube(vacuum tube) circuit design testing. This unit cannot short cathode to anode. It simply will not go past its current limit. We have about a dozen of these units and we dont need that many.
