The teeth on this revolving part are all still well-defined, and there is a satisfying click, click, click as the larger arm is cranked. The smaller arm operates a cutting mechanism that opens, shuts and looks to have no play that would cause it to not cut well. Of several springs. There are two tiny ones that function well enough right now but ought probably to be replaced sometime soon. They appear to be unremarkable and thus easy enough to find. Here is a Surly single speed adapter that I used for a couple years on an old Klein mountain bike frame(see separate listing for that) It installs in place of the rear derailleur to tension the chain to run your bike as a single speed or road fixie. Please note. This is for what you see in the pictures only, the complete kit is not included. Originally, these came with two tension springs; one to push down on the chain, and one to push up. This has the"push up" spring installed. I found that the chain would skip under power when pushing it down. Pushing the chain up cured that problem. You are bidding on a Used Signode Model ST Tensioner Tool for banding and strapping. It says it works with size 3/8 to 3/4. All the moving parts work and the knurled parts look good. The crimping tool has no brand name markings. Just the numbers 5/8" at the top end. They both appear to be in good working order, but I have no way to test them. They have light rust stains and look well used. Please note all vintage items are being sold as is and are being described to the best of my ability.
