DRUM SOLO Greg Gaylord Solid one ply ASH 4.5"x14" snare drum cast hoops RARE!
I bought this drum used. It was claimed to be a 4x14 Gaylord Drum Solo drum. When the drum arrived I was pleasantly supprised to discover it was actually 4.5 inches deep. There is no DRUM SOLO badge but it is definitely signed on th inside and playing thi drum does feel like it's a hand made instrument. Very sensitive snare response and a beautiful tone. The shell is in round the edges are clean and sharp enough to shave with. There are cosmetic issues: the brass hardware shows scratches and wear although noting deep enough to expose"white metal" The marine pearl finish has marks and appears at one time to have had diamond shaped decorations between each lug. The worst result of the removal left two small holes down to the wood. This item only ships to the lower 48 US states.

Cornet Gaylord England Vintage
This Gaylord Cornet was built in England. Engraved on the top of the bell is a Crest. Scrolling, and“ Gaylord MADE IN ENGLAND” This Vintage horn has Mother of Pearl finger button tops with brass caps and fittings. There is little lacquer of any sort remaining. A few dings, and beautiful patina On the 2 nd valve case is the serial# 975. This horn is from 1940 to 1960 as sourced according to info from Allexperts.com Who describe it as a‘stencil’ horn made for the Gaylord music house. With the very low serial number. The horn should date to the earlier end of the date spectrum. Its brass is about 90% free of lacquer and there are some re-soldered joints and braces. There are a few dings about the horn(see pics) I did not clean. But did lube valves, and pulled/ lubed the slides. I’ve played it; it plays okay. This is a rare hammered Sterling Silver bowl. The Gaylord Farm Sanatorium was originally a hospital for tuberculosis patients. A silversmithing course was started in 1925 and closed operations in 1944. There were 139 different types of items cataloged. Over the years. 481 patients worked 100,187 hours to produce the 28,990.5 items which were sold in the Gaylord Silversmith Shop. The Gaylord mark is a hammer with wings on each side(the hammer looks like a T) Gaylord Silvercraft had ties to WILLIAM WALDO DODGE who owned his own company" ASHEVILLE SILVERCRAFT This bowl is 5 1/4" lip to lip. It stands about 1" tall and has a weight of 152 grams. It is in Excellent condition. But does show some minor wear and minor scratches. 5 interlocking 15 drawer sections PLUS double pull-out writing table and top is also separate. In very good condition. Has some minor scratches and a sticker on the side. The sticker should come off with water. But I didn't want to do anything as far as"refinishing" so left it on. There are also some stickers on the front of the drawers.they also appear to be easily removed. There are 3 drawers that are missing the rod that moves the back of the card holder, but otherwise is intact and in beautiful condition as is, or could be easily refinished as the scratches are minor. Civil War Era Union Army Gaylord Leather Cartridge Box for the Percussion Revovler Up for Auction is a Civil War Era Union Army Gaylord Percussion Revolver Leather Cartridge Box. The leather is soft and supple. The belt straps on the back are flexible. One has been repaired. The retention strap has been repaired. Surface cracking and crazing of the leather. Small rip on the lower right corner of the flap, the seams are all in good shape. The box is approximately 5"wide x 4"tall x 1" deep. There are no markings on the box. This is a nice representative example that has ages well over it's 150+ year life. This cartridge box was used to store the cartridges for the Percussion Revovlers used during the Civil War. This is an older piece, it has a figural shape of a horse's head as the handle, and is a deep shade of burgundy. It has"Gaylord" written across the front. It measures 2 1/2" at the tallest point(top of the horse's head) and is approx. 4 1/2" across from the edge of the horse's head to the opposite side of the rim. The cup part itself has a 2 3/4" diameter. This piece is in excellent gently pre-owned condition. Free of any chips, nicks or cracks from what I can see. There are some lighter scratches present here and there, which is to be expected with any used vintage items. AM Gaylord Scoopy Gumball Machine
I was recently working on completing a group of Scoopy machines that I had accumulated and at the end of the process I ended up with an extra roof-top cabinet and just enough of interior parts to put together the pictured machine. It is an incomplete A.M. Gaylord Mfg. Co. Scoopy machine. Circa early 1950's, and it is a non-working display piece. The cabinet is original, with original paint, but the machine is missing the original push rod, the cabinet lock, and virtually all of the original mechanism, except the interior frame, with a reproduction figure, with newer paint, scoop, and hat. I can attest that Scoopy parts are hard to come by and I don't want to make any promises that you would be able to find enough parts in the future to complete this machine. If being used for decorative purposes. A basket or two would look nice in that open area. The cabinet appears to be hardly used. All of its hardware is in tack. Solid wood construction and heavy, most likely maple but not sure. All hardware is solid brass and has all the pieces for each drawer. The card catalog measures 61" tall, 33" wide, and 17" deep overall. Each drawer measures 3 7/8" tall, 5 5/8" wide and 16 3/4" deep. It is stacked in interlocking sections and includes: stand, double sliding book shelves, two 2' x 5' sections, one 3' x 5' sections, and a top cap. Each 2' x 5' section has 10 drawers and the 3' x 5' section has 15 drawers for a total of 35 drawers. The brass pulls have patina to them and all the hardware is intact. The drawer faces are all wood and the inside is a heavy duty solid plastic and metal. Smooth gliding. There's surface scratches on the piece as to be expected with the age of the piece. ANTIQUE SWORD. MADE BY GAYLORD COMPANY, CHICOPEE, MASSACHUSETTS, PATRIARCHS MILITANT, CHEVALIER, INDEPENDENT ORDER OF ODD FELLOWS: This antique I. O. O. F. sword was manufactured by the Gaylord Company, Chicopee, Massachusetts. This sword was originally owned by S. C. Downs who held the rating of"CHEVALIER" PM, PATRIARCHS MILITANT" in the Independent Order of Odd Fellows society. My eight photos will give you an excellent idea as to this sword's appearance and overall physical condition. The overall length of this sword is 34.75 inches. The blade is 28.5 inches in length. The pommel, grip, crossguard/quillon are 6.25 inches in length. I have owned this sword for several decades, but NEVER made any attempt to polish the gold metal grip wire, pommel, or crossguard. I felt such polishing would tend to remove the gold gilt ... moreplating on such metal surfaces? As it is, there is some of this gold gilt plating worn off some areas of the sword's pommel, exposing the pommel's base metal fabrication, which appears to be brass? On its reverse side, the gold wired black leather grip is beginning to show some evidence of use wear in three or four places on its high convex areas. There is no evidence of such black finishe use wear on the grips obverse side, but there are several tiny areas where the black finish has been flaked off the leather grip on its high, convex points. The sword's blade is highly decorated and features its owner's standing in the I.O.O.F. PATRIARCHS MILITANT" is the highest branch of the I.O.O.F. and is its uniform branch. There is only one degree in the PM, the"CHEVALIER" degree. With this degree, one is entitled to hold office in the I.O.O.F. Canton. S.C. Downs, the original owner of this sword, had been a member of the I.O.O.F. long and active enough, to have risen through the ranks to achieve the highest degrees and positions in the I.O.O.F.
