I wanted something that was capable of a variety of sounds. Not too expensive but not a beginner/starter instrument. I found this on sale and it was great. I love the active EQ because it allows me to get a variety of bass tones out of it. Besides the 2 band EQ. There is a blend knob for the two humbuckers that gives even greater versatility. I play mostly blues and rock oriented music and it has great low end thump. Notes are tight and defined with great spank. A simple twist of the knob and things get woolly and round for more jazzy tones that are soft and mellow. I like that it has a full 2 octaves(24 frets) for when I feel like playing a bass solo. A wonderful New England Primitive Bentwood Dry Measure or Pantry Box. Late-19thC. Features a tacked lap construction with sheet iron banding and bottom bracing. The strapping on the rim, base and vertical quadrants has remnants of original mustard paint. The wood grain and patina is really superb, with age-appropriate wear throughout. A few tacks are missing or have pulled through, along with minor separation on the inner lap and bottom panels. Please see photos for close-ups, details and further description. The hardware was replaced with traditional, English-made hardware that was common in the Georgian and Victorian periods. The sturdy frame remains original, and a look inside the drawers shows a strong structure that remains more or less unchanged by the stresses of time. As was common in the Victorian period, each drawer features hand-cut dovetails and continues to pull in and out very smoothly. The shaped bracket feet also remain very level and stable. This chest is certainly a beautiful example of English craftsmanship and will be sure to last for generations more to come. Over the years it has of course sustained some minor scuffs, which have been finished over and now simply add to the rich, genuine character of this wonderful chest, which remains in overall excellent condition. Four(4) VINTAGE Crystal Panel Optic Stemware Heavy Ornate Gold Rim Banding Cocktail/ Sherbet/ Champagne Glasses I have been unable to find a similar banding pattern. But it would go well with the Tiffin or Glastonbury/Lotus Rambler Rose or Minton patterns. The large decorative gold band is approximately 1/2” wide, with a thin pin-stripe below it; the glass measures approximately 3 1/2" tall x 3 3/4" diameter. And holds just under 6 ounces. Having a nice original patina and a rich coloured flame grain affect, with a nice shaped brass cartouche and escutcheon. I believe that this writing slope is all original(except for the leather skiver to the slopes) including the brass hinges and lock which is in working order with a key provided. The external condition of the box is fine with no major damage. Splits. Crack s or lose/missing veneer; the re has been a couple of very small filler repairs near the hinges and lock keeper(see photos 6, 7& 9) And there is a small knock indentation and hairlaine crack on the ... morelid see photo 8, but overal l this box is in very nice condition. SUPERB KRALIK IRIDESCENT INKWELL CIRCA 1900-1920 HEAVY BANDING EXCELLENT ANTIQUE
Available is this superb Kralik disk inkwell. Featuring heavy banding, lots of green, purple and gold iridescence. Excellent condition, no damage. Minor wear on the bottom commensurate with age. It is 5.25 inches in diameter, and stands 2 inches high. There is a leaf form brass lid that works well, and which is stamped with manufacturers numbers. Kralik was a contemporary of Loetz, Rindskopf and Pallme Konig in the golden age of art glass, 1900-1920. No insert on this one.

Up for auction is a ca. 1930's art deco period Homer Laughlin oblong platter. This pretty piece features gold tracery motifs at each corner and red banding or striping. This has double closed handles, it measures approximately 12" in length x 9" in width. It has a blue ink underglaze mark that reads"Homer Laughlin- Made in U.S.A. E34N8" the 34 indicates that this was manufactured in 1934.
