We purchased it from a local estate and were told that it came from the old Bumble Bee Cannery that was in Astoria. Oregon before it was dismantled many years ago. It was found on a pile of junk in an old shed and the old timers thought it had been used to do special order Bumble Bee labels for small runs. However in that this would have been nearly a hundred years ago it is hard to say exactly what it was used for at the old cannery. It is made of heavy cast iron and metal with cast gears and crank with wooden handle. It is a great STEAMPUNK piece from another era. It is very impressive and weighs nearly 15 pounds. This is a crank can sealer made by national automatic can sealer national pressure cooker company. Comes with what you see in the photos. Has rust on it. Comes with the instruction book that is in horrible shape and has gotten wet. I don't know how to work it or if all parts are included so look at the photos carefully. Vintage Home Tin Can Sealer - Hand Crank - Different Sizes 2, 2 1/2 & 3 - Canner
Vintage hand crank tin can sealer. This is in found condition and I know very little about it. I could not find a manufacturer name or model number on it. These are the pieces that come with it. Only what you see in the pictures. There are three sizes of flat disks. The smallest is on the machine, the middle sized one is marked 2 1/2 and then one larger then that. I believe they are sizes 2, 2 1/2& 3. The clamps that hold to the work surface turn and tighten. The green wood handle is in good condition and all the movable parts move. It's a little dirty but everything looks to be solid and in good working order. Please use you own knowledge and research when buying. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. Thank you! Antique Hand Painted Yellow Ware Wax Sealer Canning Fruit Pottery Stoneware Jar This is an unusual find- an antique yellow ware wax sealer canning jar(believed to be Arthur) Handpainted by a talented artist who signed his/her work. The jar dates to the mid to late 1800s, but the painting(as dated by the artist) is from 1932. Thanks to the wonderful folks at the eBay PGP board for identifying this for us! This jar measures approximately 8-3/4" tall and 5-1/2" in diameter at its widest point. The mouth measures 2-3/4" in diameter. This jar is in great condition considering its age, with a firing pop one one edge and some unevenness/chips around the top rim(maybe from use) You can see the original color of the jar on the inside edge of the piece where the painter stopped painting.
