This is a copper electrotype printer's block for Jell-O Brand Gelatin Dessert. It is copper on type metal mounted on wood. It measures 13 picas wide X 14 picas tall and is type-high. It has the number 711 stamped on one side of the wooden block. The copper top has been cleaned and is in great shape. However. The wooden block seems a little dry and is starting to split where the nails were driven in to it, but it is holding together well because it has not split all the way through. I acquired this piece with a bunch of material from the late 1930's and early 1940's. It could be older than that. The copy on the ad reads: for summer desserts and SALADS. JELL-O- with FRUIT.
