These have a plastic type cloth on the sides and bottom. Cannot find any MFG markings but Clamco make a very similar item or these could be there older models. I did plug each in and they do heat up. One has a regular 3 prong plug and the other has a twist lock plug. Each has a dial thermostat which appears to work. These shows wear and tear. But overall are operational and looks like they are in fair to good shape other than the electrical cords needing to be replaced. For your consideration is a hand turned wax sealer canning jar that is abnormal. It has a 42 ounce capacity; a quart is 32 ounces and a half gallon 64 ounces. The chips on the rim indicate it is made of a metallic colored clay. It requires a lid of 2 1/2" There is a single trim line approximately one 1 3/8" below the rim(because of the shape of the jar. I could only get an approximate measure) Wax sealers were the primary canning jars of yesteryear; tin lids fit into the grooved top and melted wax was poured into the groove. As the wax cooled, it hardened and formed a seal; therefore the name wax sealer. This wax sealer is 6 5/8" tall and the bottom has a diameter of 4 3/4" There is a"stripe" around the bottom of the sides that never was glazed. Fresh out of a house here in Strasburg VA. It measures about 7 x 18" depending on clamps and handles. It does work and is heavy. The round canner disk are about 4" across. The bottom one is adjustable. Couldn't find any markings and is in great condition. There is one screw missing in the underside of the plate as seen in pictures. It has had enough time to be improved upon and be perfected. Since 1973 this can sealer has been manufactured and distributed by Ives-Way Products Inc, Round lake Beach, Illinois. The Ives-Way can sealer offers 7 different diameters and can adjust from flat tuna fish cans to the taller fruit cans. The sealer comes partially assembled with a set of different chucks and spacers. A detailed installation and operating manual is included. This sealer was what is used to prepare salmon in Alaska. We found this to be far superior to jars as we often transported salmon to Minnesota. Breakage is never an issue. This one half gallon midwestern hand turned wax sealer jar. Crock is as nearly perfect as you can get! Being crafted in the late 1800's this piece has survived at least 120 years in this world without a crack. Chip or hairline; that's more than I can say about myself! The color is a beautiful smooth honey brown tan with some black flakes leading me to believe it's from the Ohio area. I wish I could show you in the pictures but couldn't get a good shot. There are beautiful fingertip ridges all down the brown albany slip glazed interior. You can see where the potters fingertips went round and round on the wheel.
