John Deere builds the same unit as a Aero Core 1500& Redexium Charter House Verti Drain as a Rapid Core. The patented holder sold the rights to all 3 companies. The unit has slight variations between companies. However the basic operation is the same. The unit was built in England. Toro stopped selling the unit in 2008, Cost $21,000.00. John Deere still sells the unit at a cost of $30,200.00. The unit weight is about 1250 lbs. U will need a tractor that can lift this weight. Will need min a 24 hp tractor. Here is what I know about this aerator. Was used on a golf course. They purchased the unit new. in 2003. It was used on an occasionally basis. As u can see by the pics it was used very little. for about 3 years. The course closed and it sat. We checked out the aerator. See pics. The unit is in working condition. Its tight, the belts are like new. Everything works the way it should. This unit was not used all that much, its very clean. See Pics The plastic black cover has cracks and is in fair shape. Here is what I like about the design of this aerator. Its easy to repair and service. The belts are your safety clutch- if there is a problem. Bad soil, will not spin = no damage. With the 3/4" open tines. Tight spacing, I would estimate after aerating 1000 sq. ft. bring up about 1 yard of soil. This is a great ballfield aerator!
