This lovely old Nach Meyer flute is in fantastic condition(9.5/10) with the ONLY two minor flaws being a small chip out of the barrel and the smallest hairline crack starting on the top of the head(crown end) The ebony wood is immaculate. No noticeable scratches or scuffs nor gouges, the keys have original patina and are in excellent shape and everything is complete. This is the model that goes to low B and is pitched in the key of C@ A-440hz(first 6 holes closed produces a D, some call the pitch a"D" flute) All keys spring properly. The tenons were just re-threaded with a cotton thread but every ... morelayer was treated with a beeswax-infused cork grease to protect the cotton from swelling due to moisture. The pads were just replaced with Prestini white leather pads(and a few were PrecisionUSA) which need to be seated yet. Too many projects at the moment so this flute must go to the highest bidder! This is such a beautiful flute that I'm sure the new owner will love it to pieces! These Nach Meyer instruments are easy to pop out low notes and project very well in the upper registers as well. I've tried to show the start of the hairline crack in the head but it's too small to photograph. Meyer Sound MS-2001 JBL 2441 Hi Frequency Driver MSL-3 MSL-10 NOS!
Greetings! Up for bids is one NOS Meyer Sound MS-2001 hi frequency driver! I have had this on the shelf for years as a spare. it's a New Old Stock Meyer modified JBL 2441 Alnico driver and has not been used since coming back from Meyer in the mid 90's. it is what amounts to an overhauled JBL 2441 Alnico driver. Meyer fills the gap with Ferofluid. Does some shimming to the diaphragm and then seals the outer edge of the surround with a flexible silicone, which serves somewhat to damp resonances and add mechanical reliability to the diaphragm. If you've had 2441's in hard service then you've probably seen where they split or crack around the periphery of the dome. I've actually had these modified diaphragms still working, in my LSL-3's, when you could clearly see through the silicone that the entire surround was cracked. ... moreIf Meyer not have done this then the diaphragm would have been destroyed, it amounted to years more of service. John Meyer holds several patents on hi frequency drivers so I think he knows what he's doing: The diaphragm is a 16 ohm version. These were used in the MSL-10 and the original MSL-3's. The version with the Motorola Tweeter bank and X-M3 network in the cab. Aside from the fact that this is an NOS JBL2441 driver. It has also had the Meyer Mods done to it, and the diaphragm alone is $240, so here's a chance to get a really great deal. My expert believes this refers to a tourist hotel in Spring Lake Beach. New Jersey, but he is not sure. The bowl and handles and finial on the lid are molded in the shape of a gargoyle head. It measures 3” tall without the cover by 4.25” long by 3.5” wide. Amazing for its age, there are no chips or cracks but there is crazing overall and wear to the high points on the head on the lid. For auction I have a Conn 6M Alto Sax in good used condition. There are no dents of any consequence(Couple of really small ones) Some scratching where you would expect it. The pads are supple but my guess is the need to be replaced. The back reads. 6M" Pat. Applied for" E" 314435" and the letter"L" The mouthpiece is a Meyer stamped 6M and New York and Medium Chamber. Mouthpiece shows some wear but is in good shape. I can't seem to get the mouthpiece out of the micro tuner but I'll leave that to you. I do not play any instrument so please ask any questions and I'll try to get you a good answer asap. From my research I found that German silversmiths marked with a crescent moon. But the exam ples I found had the moon facing right. There is a monogram on front reading"MB" The spoon measures 8 5/ 8" in length and weighs about 2.2 troy ounces. Condition: It is in excellent condition and of solid wor kmanship; without dings. Dents or other majo r issues. The bowl's edges are flat(not rounded) and cri sp. And I did not find any pitting.
