I acquired this item off a friend of mine who has now emigrated. It is a rather nice internal micrometer for measuring the bore diameters in cylinders. The item is manufactured by Moore and Wright and as can be seen from the photo it fits nicely into its own case. The scale is imperial and the largest of the measuring rods takes it to 8" All in all a nice addition to your engineering gear! As with all of my dealings on Ebay. Rare Starrett Shotgun Bore Micrometer Polychoke? Gunsmithing Tool
This is a shotgun bore micrometer made by the LS Starrett Co. I believe it might have been marketed by Polychoke but there are no markings to say so. I have never seen another bore micrometer like this. It is in absolutely beautiful condition. I believe it is unused but have no proof so I am selling it as used. It appears to measure from.550 to.750 or perhaps.775 if you count the thimble markings after passing the.750 barrel division. So I guess this would cover 28 gauge to 10 gauge?
