This is a nice vintage set of Etalon 6" Vernier Calipers with 1/1000" 1/20 mm adjustable scales. Made in Switzerland. Manufactured by Etalon. Which is now owned by Tesa. Good condition. Includes the original Etalon wooden box. Nice tool. Slides smooth. Jaws are sharp and show no light or gaps when held up to a light. Includes the original Etalon box. Which is in good, if somewhat stained condition, with some shelf wear. The clasp and the hinge of the wood box are tight. There is a set of initials and ID number etched on the back of calipers. And it looks like another set was removed. There is an ID written in pen or pencil inside the wooden box. The foam padding in the box needs to be replaced. Etchings aside. These are nice calipers. And will serve the craftsman well. Note, I see no evidence that the scale adjustment screws have ... moreever been tampered with.

Includes the original Etalon wooden box. Very. Very nice tool. Slides smooth. Jaws are sharp and show no light or gaps when held up to a light. Includes the original Etalon box. Which is in very good condition, with only some light shelf wear. The clasp and the hinge of the wood box are tight. No name or etchings on the calipers or the wood box. I honestly see NO signs of use. Please notice. These calipers have adjustable scales. This means. That the jaws can be reground, if it ever becomes necessary, and the scales adjusted to recalibrate the calipers-protecting your investment. This caliper has a full scale on the back so that the caliper may be used as a depth gage as well. This is a very fine tool made by true craftsmans. I am unable to find exact date of manufacture but I have seen other very simular calipers dated from 1928 to 1960? Tool is in great shape for it's age(for any age! and is very accurate! But other than a little typical use wear, it looks to be in good functioning condition. It turns smoothly, and rests at zero when fully closed. It does show a little dirt in the nooks and crannies, and there's the original owners social security number engraved on the back side. This is a stunning tool that came in it's original dove tailed box. Which is marked on the top. The Etalon Tool is in excellent condition, I'm not even sure if it's ever been used or not. There is some dust particles that show up in the pictures and that is the padding from inside the box. The only thing it reads on the label of this tool is"Etalon ~ No. 531B ~ 1,200 to 1,400 ~ Switzerland" I'm not quite sure what this tool was used for, but this one is in near mint condition. The box however has seen better days, it has marks all over the top, but you can still read the gold on top of it. This would be a wonderful piece to add to your collection! It measures 1/8" over 5 1/2" long and 1 1/4" round at the part with the little legs.
