The Starrett Protractor does have a small area with previous owner markings, but the paint has simply been removed for the initials so it is quite an easy fix. They do appear to be older pieces and are of very good quality. The 12" rule is also STARRETT. Bubble protractor, center finder, square, all are in very nice condition, good paint, no rust. Matt black is in SUPER shape.minor minor chips. There are no owner's marks on any of the pieces. A very nice, clean set. Scale's edges are smooth, all lines and numbers are visible. Slight discoration here and there but very faint, most all bare metal is very nice. Set was always coated in machine oil. Protractor head bubble glass is clear. Starrett 24" Combination Square Level Protractor head No. 4 steel Ruler rule 2'
This is a very well used tool! The square head has a level built in but the scribe is missing. The angle head also has a level built in. The 24" ruler has a lot of sctratching on it but the unit as a whole does function as intended. Came from a tool room at a closed factory. One side of ruler shows 1/16" and 1/8" increments.the other side shows 1/32" and 1/64" increments. It is a pretty old tool and like I stated before it is not new! There is wear and tear on it!

The condition has aged and used patina with some paint loss, surface rust, the level is not broken, and the scribe is missing. This is a great old quality machinist tool. Lufkin Rule Company Combination Square 12" & 24" Blades Starrett Catalog 1938
Up for auction is a 5 piece combination square set made by The Lufkin Rule Company prior to 1968 when Cooper Tools sold off the precision tool division of Lufkin. Included are the square head. Center head and protractor head all in good condition. The level bubbles are present and working properly. The lock bolts slide on the square and lock down firmly. The springs under the lock nuts are present and in good shape. There is a 12" 4 blade and a 24" 4R blade. The#4 graduations are 1/8" 1/16" 1/32" and 1/64" The#4R grads are the same except the 1/32" and 1/64" scales have the quick-read numbers. The blades are straight with sharp edges and no chips. They are stained but legible and usable. All in all, this will make a very nice tool for anyone's tool box. The Starrett catalog is copyright 1938 and ... moreis in excellent condition for its age.
