This is an older Hardened/ Forged Body produced by Starrett after 1945 and before 1970 or so. Later models have the Starrett Hardened Oval on the body. And earlier models did not have the reversible pin design. The REVERSIBLE PIN design allows the user to actually use All 4 Sides of the rule. Condition is very nice. Accuracy is spot on with the other Starrett products I own. Surfaces and sides of the body are extremely nice. I just retired and am selling some of my extra tooling I no longer will be needing. These were made with much better attention to detail when I bought this in the early 70's. This is a quick listing for an antique very early set of 5 L.S. Starrett Co Shrink Rules. These came from a large Pattern Makers tool chest. They are numbered models except for one. bottom in photo) They are in order of photos; 368. 368, 377, 370 and the unnumbered one. They all have stain's. Scratches, dings but even patina and needs to be cleaned. I didn't touch these just a quick wipe down, they are sold"As-Is" They are all in good condition except for the last one. Starrett Hardened Combination Square Center Head Worth Rule No. 320R Vintage USA Here we have a Vintage Starrett Hardened Combination Square. A Starrett Hardened Center Head, a Worth Slotted Rule, and a Starrett No. 320R Flexible Steel Rule. These are all older models, most likely produced in the early 1940's to the late 1950's. All are in nice useable condition with the natural patina of age. The square body features Starrett's reversible pin design which allows the user to actually use all 4 sides of the rule. Condition is very nice, though there appears to be a small casting or forging flaw on the face of the 45 degree bevel, see last picture. Accuracy is spot on with the other Starrett products I own. Surfaces and sides are all very nice. The square body is marked Starrett Hardened, the center head is unmarked, though features ... morethe same smooth black hardened Starrett finish. The slotted rule is a vintage Worth stamped model. It features a thicker blade design similar to the original Starrett's. It appears to be a hardened steel and reads in increments of 1/8ths, 1/16ths, and 32nds. The condition is also very old, though other than a staining of patina is nice and straight with sharp edges. There are No Initials. There is NO scribe. The L.S.S. Co. Starrett No. 320 Steel Rule is also a rare older version. It is a one sided rule of flexible design. It is presented here in its natural patina of age and some light staining. It is a Tempered No. 10 Rule that reads in increments of 32nds. And 64ths. Hardened Body- 4 1/2" x 3/4" Hardened Center Head 2 3/8" x 11/16" Legs. Woth Rule- 12" Starrett Rule- No 320R- 12" This item is USED. And as such is NOT returnable. Starrett Hardened Combination Square 490 Protractor Reversible Satin 4 Rule Nice Here we have a Vintage Starrett Hardened Combination Square. A Starrett Hardened No. 4 Grad Satin Rule, A Starrett Hardened#490 Protractor, and a Custom Machined Starrett Cast Square/ 45 Degree Body. These are all older Starrett's produced after 1945, but most likely pre 1960. All three of the body's have the Starrett reversible pin design. The REVERSIBLE PIN design allows the user to actually use All 4 Sides of the rule. Condition is very nice. Accuracy is spot on with the other Starrett products I own. Surfaces and sides are all very nice. The two hardened models feature the smooth black Starrett finish in nice condition. The bubbles are clear and accurate. The Starrett Rule looks to be the satin version with the shinier finish. There are very faint ... moreinitials of 2 letters on the hardened items, hard to even see, and can most likely be sanded or polished out. I am also including a custom Starrett body that was purposely, cut and machined at a precise 45 degree bevel. This allows for use in corners, and other areas where the standard square body is useless. All four sides are accurate. It had a rule that was also custom beveled to 45 degree at one time but it was lost a long time ago in addition to the original pin and thumb screw. The pin in it now is NOT a Starrett, though the other two Starrett pins are compatible, as that is what was original. All three body's designed for use with full thickness.093 Starrett 1" rules of various lengths. There is NO scribe.
