We use identical seals in all of our precision spindle assemblies where I work. This seal will work great on pumps. Motors, fans, blowers, gear boxes, pillow blocks, and conveyors. It is made from high quality bronze and is designed to last for at least 100,000 hours, as opposed to any lip type seal, which will usually fail after only 3,000 hours. You do the math. The seal in this auction is a two-part seal which consists of a stator. Press-fitted into the bearing housing, and a rotor attached to the shaft. The two parts form a non-contact, friction free, compound labyrinth, so the seal doesn’t wear out. The seal holds in the bearing lubricant with the inner portion of the labyrinth and the lubricant flows back to the bearing housing during rotation. Also, coolant and other outside contamination attempting to enter the bearing housing is captured in the outer labyrinth and is expelled through a port in the stator. This seal can be installed easily on any shaft with an OD of 1.575 inches. Inpro/Seal bearing isolators are very expensive. So you can save $$ hundreds $$ here. AS SHOWN. Here is a Starrett No. 98-12" percision machinist level with original wooden box. This level has been used but still has plenty of life left in it and has no initials or engravings on it or the box. The three glass vials are intact and the movable vial protector move easily. The black finish has some chips and is not perfect and the bottom has some minor scratches and staining but nothing that would affect its accuracy. it may need to be adjusted) The original wooden box has seen better days but works as designed. Vintage L.S. Starrett Survey Tripod Transit Level Instrument 101-A In Wood Box
You are bidding on a nice vintage L.S. Starrett. Company No. 101-A Leveling Instrument. This was made in Athol, Mass. I do not know the age of this item. It comes in the original box, with the tripod, level, plumb bob, and transit. The level contains liquid and has the bubble. It has been used and the metal is pitted, but item seems to be in working order. The site has no glass(I don't know if it is supposed to) but does have the site markers. Item shows some rust, but knobs turn easily and even I could set it up. Item comes in the original dovetailed wooden box with the label. But does not come with the manual.
