This is an airspeed indicator that came out of an aircraft that had an extremely hard landing back in 2010. I have NO way of testing it to see if it works. It is manufactured by United Instruments. The serial number is 50884 and the original inspection date was January 1976. The knob on the front is missing paint but still spins and the dial inside moves as well. Glass has no cracks either. With me having no way of testing it. It is being sold as PARTS ONLY and AS IS.

Here we have a rather hard to find STARRETT tool and that would be a number 10 SPEED INDICATOR that is still in it's original box complete with instruction paper and the two rubber tips that slide over the fixed metal tip. These speed indicators were used to determine the speed of rotating pullys and shafts.Condition of this tool is Near MINT! has all of it's bright nickle finish only detraction is a small CW engraved into the one side. No doubrt an owners mark. Some very very minor wear to the rubber tips from being used a couple times. Instruction paper is fine. Up for auction is a railroad locomotive Speed Indicator. Built by Aeroquip, model number 50-07530-09-F0. The face swings open to allow access to the various adjustments and internal workings. I acquired this from a scrap dealer in about 1998 and have no idea if it still works as it has been sitting on my home office desk ever since. The dealer told me it had come out of a former Milwaukee Road unit or old Soo Line unit scrapped in the early 1990s. Again. No way to confirm that, I just bought it because I thought it was cool looking and wasn't much concerned with what it had come out of. Cleaning through my railroad collection to concentrate on my other interests. So this has to go, no reserve price. Up for sale is a Vintage Bakelite and Brass Wind Speed Velocity Indicator made by Cape Cod. Harwichport, Mass. It measures 4 1/4" wide, 1 3/4" deep. It comes with the motor but it seems to be stuck. Usually these instruments used by govt. agencies like FAA at the airports, Dept. of agriculture, military and etc. These meters are high quality made. Aluminum body, painted with black, you can see some scratches on them shown in photos, meter face diameter is 5.5" the glass is 4" cut out hole to mount meter is 4.5/8" WIND speed is 100 knots full scale WIND direction is 360 degrees full rotation with no gap! compare to what they make today. Near perfect chrome,and beveled- edge glass in tact. In the top of the Satin box lid I can still make out the word"Elliot" but it does not show up with my camera.Fantastic condition, and please do some homework on the history of these gauges. Miller's Falls Mechanical Speed Indicator Kit LIkely made prior to 1963. As the addresses use no zip code. Has been in storage for a very long time, and appears to have been bought, tried, and stuck in the bottom of a tool drawer ever since. I cleaned and lubricated the inside, and now it spins smoothly and works perfectly. Can be used for it's intended purpose, or is easily nice enough for a collector.
