He fashioned this remarkable portrait of Abraham Lincoln using the words of the Proclamation of Emancipation” most likely following Lincoln’s assassination in 1865. Pratt and Joseph C. Lopez were listed as proprietors of the Davenport Commercial College in the 1860 city directory for Davenport, Iowa. Barnhill speculates that the Civil War era was probably not the easiest time to maintain an institution aimed at schooling young men in the skills of clerical services. Regardless, Pratt was able to produce this fine example of period calligraphy as well as a similar calligraphic portrait of George Washington using the Declaration of Independence during the same period. The lithographs were printed by engraver/printer Augustus Hageboeck who was active in Davenport from 1861 into the 1880s. Measuring 14 x 11 inches. The vintage print is bright with light aging throughout. There is a small tear at both the right and left edges and paper shows some light soiling/rubbing overall. Up for sale is an Antique 8 day Iron Front clock circa 1850s made by Daniel Pratt and Sons. Reading Mass. This clock is all original, movement has been cleaned, bronze bushed, with new mainsprings. This clock is in excellent condition with mother of pearl all around the edges and larger ones all differant places on front. Some of the painted flowers are alittle faded, but gold is good. You would be faded too if you were this old. Clock is 19" tall, 12 1/2" wide, and 3" deep except for rear legs. Dial and bezel is 5 1/2" dia and bezel has original beveled glass. I would say this is a rare clock since you rarely see a Daniel Pratt clock and also being an 8 day movement. Clock runs and strikes like a champ but may need some adjustments do to shipping. The rare book is filled with 25 maps featuring mostly the United States and they are all hand colored or accented. The United States looks a lot different at this point in history with Upper California and Oregon taking up most of the West Coast. It shows the Indian Territory and is very detailed and well done. Jr. Dated 1848 Wood Works Shelf Clock Here is an early Daniel Pratt. Jr. Wood Works Shelf Clock, Reading, Mass. circa dated 1848, which is actually dated on the mint label inside. I just purchased it today in our shop. It is in such nice original condition, you have to see this clean clock. It stands approximately 28 inches high and 15 inches wide. It has a very nice floral wooden dial with roman numerals, and look at its terrific label inside the clock. The wooden dial ihas a 7 3/4 inch chapter ring. The case is alot like an early OG case, but it has more of a half og curve on it, where the slope turns very quickly, and the door is standard flat. There is some minor veneer lacking on the base of the clock, and it is lacking the small top side pieces. It has the weights, hands, and the original pendulum. The movement wood gears are all complete. It strikes on a coiled gong, not a cast bell, and is unlike most wood gear clocks. This is an operating mid-1800’s. Daniel Pratt steeple clock with hour strike. The clock’s brass movement is in very good operating condition; incorporating a recoil escapement. A chime strikes the hour and is powered by a dedicated counter-clockwise windup spring. Key-wound via an access hole located on the front, left-side of the clock’s face. The clock movement is powered by a clockwise windup spring. Key-wound via an access hole located on the front, right-side of the clock’s face. A thumb screw adjusts the length of the pendulum. Providing a means of regulating the clock. It appears a date of manufacture is located on a label on the clock’s backside with a handwritten date of 1878 with a number 209(perhaps the 209th clock made) The label inside the clock is mostly intact and readable and states the clock is a brass movement. Opening the clock’s front door provides access to the hour and minute hands. Access to keyholes for the clock’s two windup springs and access to the pendulum for regulation adjustments. The clock’s case appears to be made from veneered wood; pine wood(appears to be rosewood. Mahogany or walnut veneer) The clock sides and top are not veneered. Only dark stained pine. Clock case glue joints appear strong. Some small pieces of veneer are missing. The case is 19.75” high. 10” wide at the base and 4” deep at the base. 2 Rare Antique Pratt& Whitney Lathe books/booklets From 1907& 1911 Hartford.Conn.Both have thick paper covers. The inside pages of both look real nice.I dont see any folds or tears of the pages.Page lettering(07) may look a little faded pictures look very strong still dark. The 1907 book has a bad outside binding both front& back covers are un-attached.Missing some material also. The 1911 Turret Lathes book has small damage on the bottom edge of binding peeled off and ripped about 2"s long. Both have wear.Soft corners/edges 07 has a small bite looking mark goes in about 12 pages about 5/8"th in size. Both have a green sticker attached to the front covers them. I didnt try and remove for fear of causing damage. Both show signs of use and wear mostly just the outside covers.

It's incised stamp marked"F& R" and has an"X" or perhaps crossed swords. I believe this is F. R. Pratt company(if I'm wrong someone please correct me) The cup is 2.5" tall and 4" in diameter at the lip. The handle and base are also accented in metallic gold. All is in very nice condition with no chips. Cracks or breaks. I purchased this at an estate auction and am uncertain of its age but believe it to be several decades old. And final, one of this cups and saucers I have- it matches the one I sold a few weeks ago. Please excuse the reflections in the pictures. SIZE: The saucer is just under 5.5 inches diameter. The cup is just over 2.25 inches tall. CONDITION: There is a tiny. Tiny nibble on the foot ring of the saucer- the pen is pointing to it in the close up picture. Pratt& Whitney Aircraft Dial Indicator No. 81-134.050" Range L.S. Starrett Co. For your consideration is a fine quality Pratt& Whitney Aircraft dial indicator No. 81-134 with a.050" range. This is marked L.S. Starrett Co. It has a jeweled movement and a.0005 resolution. The condition is good with some minor scratches on the crystal. And some staining/residue on the pebble finished back. The plunger does stick and either is gummed up, or has a weak return spring. The movement itself seems accurate, but it will need some TLC to get in tip top condition. It would be well worth it to do this as it is a very fine quality tool. If I did not already have a drawer full of indicators I would definitely take the time to do this. If you have any questions please let me know.
