Finely adjustable angle or vertical tilt with a spring loaded screw tilt arm. V shaped bottom surface with 4 base push-pins for precise aligning on your table. Also. W ith this model the V shaped bottom may be used as a bending die. It is 45 degrees, 1" wide, 3/8 depth. One end is factory shaped allowing use as a curving die. 1/4" curve 1/2" width. The entire V base is tool steel and does not scratch with a knife. So it could also be machined as a corner rounder for mild steel and aluminum. The rod with the indicator is Starrett.

Vintage Federal Products Corp Dial Indicator C71-C Jeweled Starrett 671 Base
I do not know much about this instrument will do the best to describe it and I am selling that way. It has a Starrett no 671 attachment on bottom. When you push on it the needle goes around as does the small one on bottom and they return to original place when you let off. There is a knob on top when loosened you can turn outer face of indicator. On the back is a square pc that has a threaded hole in end and holes horiz and vert. On the dial it says Full Jeweled, It is a Model No C71-C. See pictures.

This shop is a little larger than the previous two and there is probably a wider variety of tools. As the pieces are inventoried and released for disposition they will be listed. BROWN and SHARPE CAST IRON COMPARATOR/INDICATOR BASE with 0-1.00" INDICATOR
The base of this stand is original BROWN& SHARPE and measures: 1 1/4" thick x 5 3/8" wide x 8 3/8" long and made of heavy duty cast iron. The indicator support arm is also BROWN& SHARPE and made of aluminum. But the T-bolt that locks the arm in place on the shaft is not the matching bolt. The original bolt was missing, I found another that matched but was quite rusty. It serves the purpose but has quite a bit of pitting. The indicator itself has no markings on it- guessing made in China- but looks and works like new. The stand's post is aprx. 12" high but I am not sure if it is B&S and don't think is the original that came with the base. It's been step ground down from 1.125"dia. to 1.00"dia for most of it's length- I believe this was done to accommodate some different type of indicator ... moreholder. I built a very close fitting split sleeve out of 7075 AL in order to use the Brown and Sharpe indicator arm. Very little tightening force is needed to secure it to the column. I bought a bin of random tools and instruments at a silent auction my company had years ago- that's why this set up is a little mismatched. I'm oferring FREE SHIPPING and am NEGOTIABLE so please make an offer. I prefer payment through PayPal and expect payment in no more than 3 days after buyer's winning bid. Other than some discoloration, the base and column show no signs of damage. The Mitutoyo 0-1.00" x.001" increment indicator shows slight signs of yellowing on it's bezel and indicator face, has scribed department markings on it's side surfaces, but functions smoothly and accurately. I worked as a tool/mold maker for the company I purchased instruments and equipment like this from after they closed, and know this indicator was never in a hazardous machine shop environment.
