You are bidding on a used Mitutoyo in good condition. It is code No 517-215 and it is model HDS-24" It works but the metal on the side. Please see pics# 3& 4 is broken off. The on/off& zero/abs button are pushed in from normal use. We put a brand new battery in it. We don't know how to use this but it powers on and off- it zeros out- it mesaures- it holds- all the buttons work. Please carefully look at the pictures as they are part of this description too.

Very nice Starrett planer gage that I purchased years ago from an aircraft surplus store. I have not ever used it and it is still in the original case and box. It is engraved with the toolroom inventory numbers and the cardboard box cover has the same markings in black Sharpie. There are some empty recesses in the case so this may be incomplete. Look at picture#3- the wheel with the handle to roll up and down easier is broken.And you can see a little crud on the stand that should be cleaned up. Still measures extremely accurate and I'm sure this wheel with the handle can be replaced. Look at picture#4- I took two gauge blocks(set is listed) and started with the 3" and zero'd the gage. Added the four inch and it measured perfectly. Look at picture# 6- Has some peeling. Probably could paint this to make it look better but certainly does not take away from the accuracy. Because of the slight damage you are getting this for a very good price. One more thing. the battery cover needed to be pushed on so it needs to be tightened up pretty good. I gotta be honest. I don't have a clue as to what this thing actually is. I obtained it in a bulk tool buyout of an old fabricating shop. I have searched everywhere for info on it and just came up empty. It appears to be some sort of tool that measures height of an object that would protrude from a flat surface. The mechanism operates like a micrometer. As you rotate the dial. The inner post rises up inside the brass barrel. It has absolutely no maker's identification on it anywhere, but it is extremely well made. It has to be pretty rare. It is about 3 1/2" long and is about 1/2" wide. Free shipping to the lower 48.

No Toolmaker should be without one! Starret 12" Height Gage#454 w/accessories in fitted case. American made quality! A must-have for layout work and a great indicator holder for inspection work. Have fun finding out who can't read a Vernier scale too! The gage& most accessories are in good condition and work as they should with the only negatives being some light scratches from normal use. Stains on the scale as shown, chipped corners on one scriber and some engraving on pieces from the previous owner. The wooden case is only in fair condition(visually) mainly on the outside, but could be refinished. The gage is a Vernier scale in 1/1000" increments with fine adjustment and is easily readable and accurate. Accessories include: Mounting Clamp Straight Scriber. Carbide tipped but corners are chipped. Regrind or easy to replace. ... more1" Offset Scriber( hardened steel) Shown on gage in pictures. No identifying names or numbers on the rest of the pieces or box(so I'm not sure if they are Starrett also) There is a 6 inch sine bar also. All of these pieces are in good mechanical condition. on most of the pieces a previous owner has scribed name on them. These are not in mint condition but will do the job.

Vintage Machinist Height Gage 6" Frenco Frost Made In England HTF
This is a really nice used Frenco 6" machinist's height gage. from what I understand. These are getting pretty hard to find, and at one time were the finest height gages ever made. It is in very nice used condition for it's age. It has touches of light paint loss and minor surface rust staining here and there, and has the usual bumps and scratches that you would expect of a tool of this age. It also has a previous owner's name engraved on it. It works like new and is fully functional. the mechanism seems to operate just as it should without any looseness or slop. I don't have the little pointer that attaches to the arm, but I'm sure that one can easily be found or a competent machinist could fab a custom one up in a few minutes. Physically, there are a few"defects" There is a small engraving(see third pic) and some wear on the baked enamel base. The glass lens is also chipped on the bottom right corner, but its functionality is not affected at all.
