1958 Yale KGP51AT-40 Forklift. Runs great and everything works as it should!
Here we have a rare 1958 Yale KGP51AT-40 Forklift. This is a 4250 lb capacity forklift and everything on this old beast works! It runs and drives. The clutch operates as it should and the hydraulic lift and tilt functions work properly as well. It has a Chrysler 6-Cylinder Flathead engine with a manual trans that has both a clutch and a torque converter to make moving heavy loads easier. The transmission has forward low, forward high, reverse low and reverse high. The engine runs great, it was tuned up in 2010 with new spark plugs, wires, a distributor cap and rotor but it has not really been used since then. Our shop bought this lift in 1981 and it has been meticulously maintained ever since. We have two newer forklifts, one propane and one electric and we simply don't need this one anymore. This forklift was used at our car lot mainly ... moreto move trailers and cars around as well as a pallet here and there. This machine has never done any really heavy work which is probably why is works as well as it does. All receipts will be included in the sale, along with all the part numbers and a list of suppliers that will be necessary to keep this lift running for another 55 years. All the boxes parts came in were added to the file to keep track of the part numbers and brands used. We just put a newly rebuilt starter from Cano Auto Electric on it(Installed 6/11) however it doesn't engage fully all the time. The starter has a 6 month warranty. This forklift has been converted from 6 volts to 12 volts, the original generator was replaced with a 12-volt one wire alternator and a 12 volt battery was installed. The rest of the system is 6-volt and it has been working well this way for the last 32 years. In addition to the recent 2010 tune up the following work has been done in the past 8-14 years: New water pump New head gasket New axle seals New hub bearings Oil changes We have the box tops for every maintenance part necessary for this forklift! Great running low hour air tire fork lift. Comes in running condition with propane tank. Guessing on height. Its a small lift, perfect for garages. Runs on gravel and dirt. Brakes are not working. When I took these pictures it started up in about 5 seconds but i do see that the right rear tire is low or maybe flat. It should be assumed that the buyer will have to replace this tire. This is a very nice forklift. Came from the original owner. It has been highly maintained. The tires are 90% all around. It is very tight and runs great. It will lift 6000 pounds easily. It has the cummins diesel engine. As you can see it has been painted recently by a proffessional paint shop and they did a very nice job. Looks like they took it apart to do the paint. There are no dents in the machine and the only reason it was repainted is because it had over spray all over it. The seat has minor wear. It starts right up and runs great. Engine does not have any leaks and sounds great. I ran it and it functions as it is suppose to. The brakes work perfect and also the park brake. It is almost flawless. Baker Model FJD-040 forklift. This forklift runs on regular gas and has a lift capacity of 4000 lbs. The truck weight is 6600 lbs. The lift needs a little TLC.The wheel cylinder boots will need replace to fix a brake problem(brakes do not work-parts available for around $100.00) and a seal on the hydraulic cylinder needs to be replaced. Both easy fixes! Also, the starter sticks every once in awhile and with a tap on the starter it works fine.The truck starts right up and runs good, but I would replace the spark plugs and wires and give her an oil change. Just a normal tune up will have this lift running great. The gas that is in the truck is old and you can smell it when you first start the truck. The battery may be a little weak from sitting and might or might not need replaced.It hasn't run much this year so the battery may be good ... morewith a full charge! NO RESERVE* I have for sale a 1998 Moffett M5000 forklift with 1700 hours on the hour meter. It is in good condition. The frame has no cracks in it. The tires are good, the engine is strong. The body had some minor rust on it here and there. We cleaned it up and repainted it. Since we hadn't planned on selling it. We painted it with a brush, but it doesn't look too bad. There is significant rust on the"dashboard" which is a flat sheet metal panel where the gauges mount. I plan on replacing that before it sells but wanted you to be aware. So I've included pictures. There is also rust on the overhead guard assembly cage. I have a quote for a replacement($3600) And I am willing to replace it before sale for $3600 + $1000 labor. This sale is for a lift that we just got in and seems to be in good useable condition. This is a TCM Forklift which uses propane and is designed to handled loads of 3.000# or less. The forklift comes with a 3-phase shifter(up and down, forward tilt and back, and side to side. The lift has separate brake and gas pedals. Their are a total of 6,115 service hours used on this lift. The lift has one hydraulic leak in the front but it is a very inexpensive fix. All the tires are good as shown by the pictures. Their are some rust spots on the unit, if I were going to keep it I would sand them off and get me a gallon of oil paint($15- $20) and repaint it using a small roller and brush. This is a good running and operating Kamatsu FG30-8 Type G forklift. This fork lift runs on Propane(tank not included) Hour meter. Temp gauge, and fuel gauge. The forklift is stored inside and has solid tires in very good condition. Nissan 4 cylinder engine with a brand new battery installed. Known problems are as follows: Fuel gauge does not work, lights work but the switch is faulty and you have to twist it a little to get them on, and it could use a muffler(slightly louder than it used to be) Forks lift and tilt.
