Four vintage brass temple toys from India. All original wheels. These were given to me by a friend who recalled playing with them as a little boy in the early 1950s. Approximately size: 3" height, 2" length, 1.5" width. A vintage brass temple toy from India of a horse on wheels with a head crest. The axels appear original but all four wheels have a different design. The front right leg is a little offset which gives the horse a slight tilt otherwise it is in very good condition. Dear fellow driving enthusiasts, This is a handmade reproduction of a 1830 Phaeton or Dog-Cart. A Dog-Cart is a highly maneuverable horse-drawn vehicle. Originally designed for sporting shooters with two transverse seats set back to back. Although dog-carts were originally two-wheeled vehicles, the French created a version such as the one we have here, having four wheels and seats set back to back or dos-à-dos(French for"back-to-back" This vehicle was entirely designed and handmade by Mr. Ed Dryden from 1983-1986. Mr. Dryden was renowned for superb workmanship in his restoration of antique horse-drawn vehicles and his work appears in many museums across the country. After many years of restorative work. Mr. Dryden decided that in most cases he could build a better vehicle starting from scratch. This Phaeton is a prime example ... moreof that work. It is made entirely of hard wood and hand-forged steel. Over the years, Mr. Dryden perfected his production of carriage wheels. None better can be found. The wheels on this Phaeton are incredibly strong, well-balanced, and rimmed with heavy rubber on steel. The wheel itself is hand-bowed hardwood with 1½-inch hardwood spokes(meant for cross-country marathons and hunting) This vehicle is in pristine condition and ready for the marathon or show-ring. If needed. We can arrange for the Phaeton to be shipped to you by a method of your choice. The only thing you may want to do to it is replace the 1" leather wraps on the shafts as the leather had become too dry, so we removed it. I haven't done this repair as some buyers will prefer to not replace them. That is the only repair on the horizon, but is not at all necessary. Other than that, it is in perfect condition as it has been well cared for and protected. The Phaeton is set up for a single full-sized horse although it can accommodate a small to medium sized draft. They tray tops are 14.5" x 23.5" and are in very good condition with no rips or tears. They are covered with a vinylized type fabric. Easy to wipe up. There is a bit of very faint staining on a couple. I have not scrubbed them to see if it comes out. Really. Hardly noticeable. Set of 4 vintage tv trays. Wood-tone design. Trays are a pressed wood- stands are metal. One stand also serves as the holding/storage rack. So this one has wheels. Underside clips(4 per tray) are all intact. Wheels roll freely. All trays on stands are structurally sturdy. There is some varnish, scratching, and/or discoloration on various places on the gold-tone of both the stands and the trays themselves.
