This old industrial light was made by Appleton Electric Company. I think it's mad e mainly of aluminum with a glass dome lens. I really don't know much about it. But it seems like it would be a good one to convert into a regular 110 table lamp, ceiling, or wall fixture. It's pictured sitting on a roll of tape. There's a little piece on the side at the bottom that sticks down just enough to be in the way. It has 2 rivets that could be drilled out if you want to remove it. Not including that piece it measures about 12 1/2" tall. About 4 1/2" across at the bottom and nearly 9" across at it's widest point. It has scuffs. Scraches, use-wear, and some speckles of spray paint on and around the red tag. I have another one. If this one does well I may offer it to the highest bidder at the same price(high bid each) if that buyer wants a pair. It weighs around 10 lbs. unpacked. And uses an ordinary 1 in. base light bulb. This has a slot for a cage but none is included. This measures 7 1/2 in. wide by about 13 1/2 in. long-the dome measures 4 1/2 in. high by 5 in. at the base. This probably dates to the 1970s. Large explosion proof glass light cover in very good pre owned condition with no chips or cracks. It is marked Crouse-Hinds VDB3 on one side and Made In USA on the other. Industrial Explosion Proof yard Barn Glass Old Killark 14 1/2" steam punk.
Welcome to Grandpa's Garage today you are looking at a very nice explosion proof barn light. As can be seen in the photos this light is in great shape very solid take down. The light works great with thick old glass and heavy base. This light would be an easy rebuild for a barn or keep it as is for that unusual table lamp.
