2 Vintage Ace Lighting Art Deco Ball Swag Lamps
I believe this to be a vintage reproduction of a much earlier style. I'm guessing this was manufactured in approx 1970. It will need to be rewired to insure safe operation. The nice heavy glass ball shrouds are in perfect condition. The metal is cast but I'm not sure of it's content. Check out the cool detail on the swag chain shown in pic 7. Lamps today are definitely not made as solid and built to last as these were in the 70's. It's possible that the hardware loops that hold the fixture to the chain may not be original(to me. The finish seems slightly different. Overall, these are awesome vintage lamps and once rewired will be an impactful focal point in your home and provide many years of use. Pair of Italian Hand Painted Ceramic Lamps by Marbro Lighting of Beverly Hills
c.1955 hand painted ceramic lamps on walnut bases made by Marbro Lighting of Beverly Hills. Marbro produced some of the finest lamps of the era and catered to the Hollywood elite. They often imported fine Italian pottery to use as bases and this pair almost certainly is from Italy. There is a white glaze covered with various hand painted fruits and leaves separated into four three tiered panels. They are in wonderful condition and in very good working order. One rim had a small chip but it has been professionally repaired and is no longer visible. There are several tiny rough spots that are simply part of the hand made pottery and one base has a dark streak that appears natural to the walnut. The shades shown are not in good condition and do not ship. The lamps were made by Mutual Sunset Light Company of Brooklyn, NY. The base has MSLC 4024 on both of them. Some question out on eBay as to whether these lamps were designed by Gilbert Rohde, anyone out there know where that open item can be confirmed or disproved? Your identity will be kept anonymous. The lamps appear to be made of brass and pressed glass. The bottoms above the brass base are also a cube of glass. A couple of chips in the cubed glass on both pieces. Nice pair of Tyndale fabric shades come with the lamps as well. Some of the gold gilt around the lamp needs to be reattached. But all there. All lights have shades made of ribbed aluminum. And have highly polished aluminum reflectors. The stems measure 38 inches each and all of the lamps are wired with GE Hospital Grade plugs. Brick style shades measure 7"L x 3.5"D x 2.5"H, cylinder shade lamp measures 4"H and is 2.75" in diameter.
