Antique Westinghouse Voltmeter - Vintage Electrical Instrument
This vintage instrument came out of the lab of an old factory. I have no reason to believe that it isn’t in perfect working order. But I have not tested it. As you can see, it is in great shape. The only issue is the little rubber feet on the bottom are somewhat deformed and the leather handle shows a little wear. Thanks for looking. I’ll try to answer any questions. An antique circa 1920's Westinghouse Type OB Polyphase Watthour electrical meter. The paper label on the reverse has a number of patent dates the earliest from 1911 the most recent from 1919. The meter measures approximately 5" by 8 3/8 by 8 3/8" deep and weighs a little over 11 lbs. The glass cover is intact and has no chips or cracks or other defects. The meter is in very good cosmetic condition but I have no idea if it's in working order. The paper label on the reverse has chipped edges and is soiled and"Multiply by 200" is hand written on the Westinghouse ID plate. The attached images give an accurate impression of its cosmetic condition. It came out of the attic of an old factory slated for demolition. There is a lot of information on the card and says the following: This instrument operates on the repulsion moving iron principles. A multi-range current transformer is mounted inside. The case restricting the use of the this instrument to a-c. If the a-c wave has a dc component, the instrument will read the rms value of the ac symmetrical wave only. The accuracy rating is 1/2 of 1 per cent. This accuracy rating applies when the instrument is correctly used within the temperature range and the frequency range specified. The calibration is on the basis of 25 degrees C. Ambient temperature. Really sweet old meter. Hard pressed to find many of these type meters anymore.Notice the running gears, Awesome! Back in those days they gold plated all of the brass gears, out of this world cool. Ya gotta love the 25 amps, LoL! 1. clothes dryer would use up the entire service and them some. It's hard to see in the photos, but the glass has amethysts hue to it.Steampunk masterpiece coming on.As far as I know the only thing missing is the bottom wire connection cover plate. If you look at the gauge it measures the light output suitability for different types of work. I can find very little information about it on line, it was made in Bloomfield NJ. This item is 1484 pages, over 7 lbs, and includes not only technical electrical equipment and supplies, such as wire, switches, fuses, meters, gauges and hand tools, but also quack dry cell medical devices, telephones and electrical insulators, telephones, lighting fixtures and table lamps. The book contains wear as shown in the pictures, and is a bit shaken, but is otherwise complete and in good condition. Catalogues of Westinghouse items prior to World War One are very rare.

VINTAGE WESTINGHOUSE Type OA ELECTRICAL WATTHOUR METER 15AMP 100 VOLT
Purchased at an estate sale. Was found in their basement. I found it interesting so I picked it up. I do not know anything about Electricity, or Meters, so I do not know if it works. I am selling as a Restore Project or as a collectible. The last patent date on it is 4/8/19& it was evidently made in Newark New Jersey. It states that it is a: TYPE OA WATTHOUR METER 100 AMPS 15 VOLTS SERIAL# 60774528 STYLE 170824F SINGLE PHASE 2 WIRE 60 CYCLES While taking the pictures I noticed a small(probably less than an inch) crack along the base of the glass near the one screw area. It is not visible when you look at the meter. That's why I almost missed seeing it. I jhave also noticed that the glass is a little loose& may need a seal(which may or may not be present now) I assume there was a seal on it originally. I can't tell if one is ... morepresent now or not. I do not want to take it apart to check. PLEASE VIEW THE PICTURES CAREFULLY. consider this part of my description.
