Vintage Vetenarian? Machinest? thermometers
From a recent estate are these 2 thermometers. The largest is approx. 12 inches long in a metal caseing with a screwtop to remove the themometer which goes up to 300 degrees F. It comes in a white tube that has blue smudges on it. The other is a pen like case holding a 5 inch long thermometer in a metal case that unscrews so the themometor can be remoced. This one goes up to 600 F. Any ebayer out there with info on these would be greatly appreciated. The client has no idea what they are for, they were found in her uncles shop. Vintage Lot of 9 thermometers: Betty Furness Set; USG Boiler Therm. Dr. Office set of Therms; others Great starter thermometer set. The Betty Furness Set(box in worn condition) appears to be from the 50's. With instructions; the Dr. Office set maybe from the late 40's or50's. And the USG Boiler thermometer(that goes up to 260 degrees) has an enamel cover material and a patent date when researched comes up with an issued date of July 12. 1927; Bubble thermometer of unknown origination that goes up to 100 degrees; and a metal encased thermometer(has a hair line crack that doesn't go all the way through since its still feels solid) that goes up to 300 degrees. These are great display items. Got a lot of attention when I had them on display at work.
