This is a new old stock Motorola\ Narda West microwave oscillator. With the part number 52-P01413Y/F, DRO 53-03. It operates on 5 Vdc, and has an adjustable RF output from 5.4 to 5.9 GHz. The output connector is a female SMA type. The oscillator frequency adjustment has the original factory lacquer seal intact. Unfortunately, I do not have a frequency counter capable of measuring high enough to measure the particular output frequency, or RF output level. I also do not know the output impedance either. However, the device is in proper working order, according to my father's engineering notes. I believe this unit was used either in a signal generator or as a LO in either a receiver, transceiver, or transmitter. Wiltron 6223D Sweep Oscillator Plug-In 4-12.4 GHz for 610D Mainframe TESTED
I have a pile of Wiltron stuff I got years ago and used in my lab. Replace when I got something a little newer. Its a shame to see this stuff just sitting when someone could use it! This is a plug-in module for the Wiltron 610D sweeper, although it would probably work fine in a 610B or C. This module, type 6223D covers 4-12.4 GHz. I checked this and it makes +5 dBm across the range, I used my spec. an. in store mode and then plotted the power output chart, which you can see in the pic. This unit uses two Avantek YIG oscillators, a 4-8 GHz and a 8-12.4 GHz(worth alone what I ask) with a PIN diode switch to very rapidly select between then. The output level of the 8-12 is not as flat as the 4-8 and I suspect the switch bias circuit is the culprit for poor flatness, not the YIG, and the unit still makes over 5 dBm across the band. Reason I say ... morethis is that YIGs of this type and vintage usually die completely, not with power like this. I also have other bands and some mainframes. So if you are in the market, just ask. This plug-in is a Watkins Jonhson WJ1251-4. 4-8 GHz, made to plug into the WJ 1250-1255 series of microwave synthesizers. It has quite a few nice standard RF parts including a 4-8 GHz Avantek YIG oscillator, 4-8 isolator, two 4-8 GHz Narda couplers, a Wiltron SMA detector covering 10 MHz-18 GHz, a 4-8 mixer/IF amp block for the phase lock, HP PIN mod/switch, among others. I have used this and it worked, but it has been several years and I sold the mainframe, so I am selling"AS-IS" parts, to be on the safe side with everyone. Model MS-540LMXO(the higher power version) Contains a high-Q cavity oscillator that is phase locked to a harmonic of the internal reference ovenized crystal oscillator. For the picture, I am using a 100.00000 MHz SC-cut crystal, which is not included in this auction. The cavity oscillator runs at 1500 MHz( X15 the crystal reference) and the multiplier block is X4 giving output at 6000 MHz. The output power is 18.4 dBm. Also, this brick has an isolator on the input to the multiplier block, and I put a 6 GHz isolator on the RF output: these make for superior stability. The DC bias on the multiplier block diode can be optimized by adjusting the pot on top of the brick. Brick also has a modulation input(BNC) Requires a well-regulated-20.0 VDC supply at about 0.5 A.
