This antique old stove lifter was made for the"Andes" brand of stoves. Ranges& heaters, made by the Phillips& Clark Stove Co of Geneva, New York. they were a famous& well know 19th& early 20th century New York stove foundry. this lifter is identical to the"dealer trade" lifters pictured in the 1891 Griswold cast iron products catalog. I have seen this same identical lifter with the word"Erie" lightly debossed on the underside of the lift-tongue. early on, Griswold lifters had that word on the underside but later on I've seen lifters made by them but with this word omitted. at any rate, this lifter is in mint condition, appears to be unused, no sign of wear on the lift or anywhere. is in the plain iron finish. if you have a Andes stove or range, this is the perfect addition for it. very clean& ... moreclear, crisp, embossing. please see my other listings for some other fine stove lifters, will combine shipping on multiple ones so if you buy more than 1, please do not pay until I send a invoice with correct shipping cost. please email with any questions as all sales are final. Antique- Vintage Advertising Item. 1910 Compliments of SCRANTON STOVE WORKS DOCKASH STOVES AND RANGES SCRANTON. PA_ This listing is for a 1910 notebook given out by Scranton Stove Works which was in Scranton. PA. Pocket sized book has a 1910 calendar inside the front cover and a 1911 calendar inside the back cover. There is an illustration of the Dockash Foundry, the plant of the Scranton Stove Works. The pages with personal information are blank. Sections include addresses, memos, calendar, some maps and a couple of pages listing names of the stoves. Black cover measures 2.75" by 5.75" Condition of this old advertising item from a stove company long gone is Fair plus(see guide below) Cover has rub and scuff. Top coat missing in some places including over spine end, has soiling marks. Important: Cover has separated from pages inside ... morebecause they were held on the spine by the old string method which separates over time. This notebook is 103 years old. Inside there is some handwriting on a few pages. No water stains. I'm thinking if you have one of the old Scranton Stove Works- Dockash stoves or ranges you may enjoy having an original advertising item from the company. I looked online but could not find when they went out of business. I see mention of them into the 1920's then nothing so I'm guessing around that period they closed or merged. This card is quite large with dimensions of about 5.2"x3.5" and is an advertisement for Glenwood ad Elmwood Stoves and Ranges that were being sold by the Sanders Company in Laconia. New Hampshire. The Glenwood and Elmwood Stoves that are advertised here were made by the large Weir Company of Taunton, MA. What appears to be possibly a butler in a stately home sees a black cat and asks in his lingo, Uf de ole cat has kittens in de ubben doant make um biskit. I guess you had to be there to see the humor. The card is in decent condition with solid colors. The bottom left corner has a bend, there are two minor cuts on the top edge middle and right. There are some minor scrape marks. On the back everything is legible and the Weir Company proudly displays their highly technological product for about 120 years ago, although the date of ... morethe trade card is unknown. Front shows a large wood cookstove or range, says Majestic Ranges, Malleable and Old Style Charcoal Iron. At bottom says World's Fair, St. Louis Exposition. Reverse has 4 leaf clover and words Good Luck in the middle, and has the signs of the zodiac around the good luck. This looks to be bronze, but not sure. Some edge decoration. For auction a old miniature advertising axe from the 1930s. This is a miniature silver color axe featuring advertising on both sides. The advertising reads"The Art Stove Co Detroit Chicago" on one side& Look Out For The Laurel Stoves& Ranges. Measures 1 7/8 inches tall by 4 inches wide. This is a great piece of advertising and all original. There is a little loop on the handle. So I suppose this could have been worn on a chain or hung on a wall. Does have wear, patina to the advertising, due to age. Overall good condition.
