For sale is a Roger& Bros Triple Plate. 1920, tilting, hot wa ter kettle- tea pot- coffee pot with an oil warmer incorporated into the base. The photos are very representative of the item. I would describe it as great condition with normal usage marks in the silver. Aside from the brand marks on the bottom of the pot and base it has a letter embossed on the back of the pot. I think it may be a capital"D" but I'm not fully certain of the font. Please see the photo. When the pot is sitting in the base it measure approximately 14 inches high, the base is approximately 8" wide. It stands for the W& S Blackinton Co that started to produce silverplate hollow ware in the 1930's. This might be a carafe holder or a soup tureen holder. I'm not sure. It is 6 1/2" high and 6 1/2" across at the top; it weights 2 lbs, 6 oz. As you can see, it hasn't been polished in a while. The design is quite intricate, especially inside the legs. This is an unusual item. We believe it was made shortly after Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr. was shot. On one side it has the likeness of MLK and the words, I HAVE A DREAM. REV. MARTIN LUTHER KING, R. 1929-1968" the other side is a plate warmer and the item is about 1" thick. This must have been purchased by someone who wanted to honor Dr. King, but wanted the item to be practical, as well. I did a google search and looked on e-bay and couldn't find one of these anywhere. Beautiful glass carafe with silver handle. Lid, stand and candle. Embossed into the bottom of the stand is"ENGLISH SILVER MFG. CORP. MADE IN U.S.A. It came from an estate sale and probably dates to the mid-century era. I think the metal parts are silver plated. The stand has curved legs with a detailed pattern of flowers, stems and leaves. There is a small silver colored candle holder that fits onto the bottom of the stand. The carafe can sit by itself on a table but also fits perfectly in the stand for keeping the contents warm over the candle. The pot by itself stands 11" tall to the top of the decorative fi nial on the lid. When in the stand it's 14 1/2" tall. Everything together weighs 3 1/2 pounds.
