Very nice silverplate gravy or sauce chaffing dish has no makers marks that I could find. So I am not sure of the age or maker of this piece. It is pretty and comes with the gravy boat, holder, and burner. Good for special occasions or any elegant table setting. Very good condition. It looks like is was well kept and had only light use. there is no silver loss. It is 8 1/8" high and 7 1/4" wide. The base is 5 1/2" round. I have other silver items and I combine to save shipping. Amazing estate find. New. Never used 1968 Chafing set with original papers and instructions. Set is toned I have not tried to clean it. Has 2 incredible silver plated burners with adjustment screws. 2 separate Anchor Hocking Fire King Serving dishes(new and also Unused) Also a Silver plated housing and 2 Silver plated lids. The Fire King dishes measure 9"X5" and a little bit deeper then 2" The frame measures in at 11 1/2" just under 9 1/2" and 6 1/4" tall. Beautiful glass carafe with silver handle. Lid, stand and candle. It came from an estate sale and probably dates to the mid-century era. I think the metal parts are silver plated. The stand has curved legs with a detailed pattern. The carafe can sit by itself on a table but also fits perfectly in the stand for keeping the contents warm over a candle. The pot by itself stands app 11" tall to the top of the decorative finial on the lid. When in the stand it's app 14 1/2" tall. This item is in good condition with some minor cosmetic wear from normal use. There are a few minor scuff marks and scratches on the item but this does no effect the functionality of the item. The temperature was turned to the max and the item was left for about 15 minutes. The item became very hot and worked properly and functioned as it should. This is an exquisite antique silver-plated oil burning hot plate/ chafing dish. It is extremely ornate with very dimensional intricate detailing. It is beautifully footed with very nice floral and shell design, the handles are equally as ornate with much detailing. It is a three piece set the large base. The removable hot plate, and the burner. the silver-plated burner sits recessed into the inside of the base and would hold oil. the plate has some ware on the top but still usable. There is also a nice badge on the side which would be used for initials of owner. the base has many holes in the bottom and under the handles for venting heat. The silver is in great shape and there are no dents in the piece. it measures 13 1/2 inches wide by 4 1/4 inches tall. the hot plate is 10 1/4 inches in diameter. the burner has a little wiggle room in the ... morerecessed base but looks to be original. Up for bid today is a beautiful antique chafing dish with tray. They are both silver plate and show obvious signs of wear. But if they are polished and cleaned up I bet they will sparkle! Just in time for the holiday snag yourself a deal with this silver plate set! The tray or platter is stamped"WM ROGERS 171" with a little angel( and star stamped before and after the name. Unfortunately I could not capture this stamp on camera. The tray measures 12 1/2" across and has beautiful detailing on the top. It weighs 1 lb. 0.7 oz. The chafing dish is stamped"ENGLISH SILVER. MFG CORP, MADE IN USA, LEONARD SILVER" all of which was captured on camera. The chafer measures 8 1/2" across the opening, the same as the glass dish, which is the original pair. The bottom of the chafer set weighs 1 lb 7.8 oz, and the lid 8.1 oz. ... moreThe glass has its own stamp of sorts, Anchor Hocking, Fire-King, Ovenware, Made in USA, 1 1/2 QT. There are a few small dings in the top tray but these are only visible at certain angles and will not be noticed with food on the tray. The Tray/ Dish is double skinned so the heat beneath is not too severe. The main central burner is a paraffin burner and will require a wick and fuel but there is plenty of room beneath for tea lights to burn as there is adequate side venting.
