Here is a VERY heavy duty Machinists/ Welders C Clamp. It is made extra thick and has fine threads for precision work. Note* that it closes to a 2 and 1/4 inch space. NOT all the way together. The Frame is approximately 12 inches long with a maximum opening space of 6 and 1/4 inches. This C Clamp weighs 5 pounds, it also has the squared bottom underneath the handle so additional force can be used. A person with extensive knowledge of Vintage and Antique tools may look at this Clamps design and know the brand, but I was unable to determine it. I believe this is a rare Clamp made in this configuration. There are letters on the raised boss area in the middle but I was unable to read them. thanks for looking.

J.H. Williams & CO. Heavy Service C - clamp Marked No. 4 FORGED C-CLAMP +WRENCH
This is a J. H. Williams and Co. Drop forged Vulcan No. 4 Heavy Service Clamp. It is 9" O.A.L. and has a clamping range of 2-1/8" to 4-1/2" This clamp is accompanied by a vintage Williams wrench 15/16" 1-1/16" The 15/16" end is the size for the screw on this clamp. Weight is approx. 10 Lbs. This clamp is used. But freshly sand blasted and painted with black enamel. The wrench has received the same sand blasting, and enamel coating. I even used vintage 30 year old Harley Davidson enamel on these! It is in very good condition considering it's age. The screw was thoroughly cleaned with a brass wire wheel. This clamp can be used for lifting with a hoist. As a poor mans shop press, as a heavy welding clamp, or for a variety of other uses. Buyers have been quite content with similar purchases. This is a Vintage J.H. Williams& CO. Vulcan Heavy Duty Service Forged C- Clamp. Although it is hard to read. I believe it is marked No. 5. It is in good working condition and it measures 10-1/2" long x 7" x inside 5-5/8" It has a working range of 2-3/4" to 5" I am not an expert so please look at the pictures carefully and email me with any questions prior bidding.
