This is a Vulcan Williams bridge clamp. opens 1/4 to 2-3/8. forcing screw is very good.no weldind burrs.Not rounded or bent.not excessively loose.The body has been"trimmed" it is stamped"TOOL SHOP" the clamp has been around.but the forcing screw looks like a replacement.The screw has the much more desirable ring on the end(prevents walking) this is sold as returnable

Huge! Awesome! Machine Age! Old! Handmade C Clamp Bridge Railroad Heavy Duty

The frame was flame cut out of 1” steel plate and two 5/8” steel round bars shaped to fit the inside edges of the‘C’ The round bar was then welded on both sides to the plate and a hex nut added for the adjusting screw to pass through. The adjusting screw is a piece of 1 ¼” threaded rod with a of 1.25" x1.25" x 1” piece welded on the end for a wrenching point. The throat opening is 8” and the throat depth is 7” Weight is about 35 lbs. It is big. Beautiful, and likely old, dating back to a time when labor was cheap, or places so remote(it was obtained in Colorado) to make purchasing a commercially-made version prohibitive in terms of cost or delivery time. It was likely made by a blacksmith and it’s ... moreso large that it would have been useful in building large items, maybe railroad or mining related. It also has an artistic appeal. Good candidate for incorporating into a piece of art, a sign, door handle, or to start a conversation.
