Vintage Sampson's Grip of Detroit Heavy Duty Large Service C Clamp 12" Model 412
Price reduced! Hi. And thanks for looking at my listing, this is a"Brute" of a C clamp. I bought it at an estate sale, and being a Construction worker in the steel industry for over 20 years I know a fine product when I see it. This is a Vintage C clamp made by Sampson's Grip out of Detroit. I was able to find out on line that their patent trademark ran out over 30 years ago, so many have never heard of this company. I am familiar with Proto and Williams C clamps and this is just as good a product. It is forged steel made in USA, made at a time when a tool like this was expected to last a lifetime. I show in the pictures some measurements so you can have an idea of its size. I listed it as 12 inch, I believe a C clamp is measured only by how wide it will open, regardless of its weight or width. This C clamp measures about 18 ... moreinches tall, just the"C" part, and is about 9 inches wide. When it is unscrewed to be competely open it measure about 31 inches. The swivel pad rotates good and is not mired up with old welds the way many older C camps are. It also is true and straight as can be seen in the picture where it is against a level. When any C clamp gets"sprung" is of little use. This one is completely true and threads well. The handle slides through the opening as it is supposed to and is NOT bent and both ends have their original"swedge" so that it can not be pulled out from either end. There is one spot of a tack weld about one inch from the swivel pad, so at present it only opens to about 11 inches, but if a person wanted to, you could easily grind this small tack off and regain the full 12 inch opening. It weighs nearly 14 pounds, so this is most ideal for a steel fabricating shop which works with large steel or a machine shop which works on large equipment. Although this is a vintage tool, it would be just as worthy to be put to the harshest tasks of daily work or be displayed somewhere in a large Vintage tool display. Up for your consideration is a lot of 5 heavy service c-clamps. There is one Wilton No. 8. One Williams No.6, and three Armstrong 78-050. They are all in working condition, and have scratches. Please ask any questions you might have. Make sure to look at the other fabrication equipment that I currently have listed. I mainly use Fed Ex even though the calculator shows it as UPS. The price will remain the same. I get far better service from them than UPS.

Vintage Williams Vulcan No. 1 Extra Heavy Duty Service C-Clamps 1-1/4" capacity
For auction is a lot of Two(2) Vintage Williams Vulcan No. 1 Extra Heavy Duty Service C-Clamps. These clamps have a maximum clamping capacity of 1-1/4" x approximately 1-1/8" deep to the center of the screw. The clamp pictured on top in the first photo is in very good condition and is fully functional. There is evidence of normal use for this type of industrial duty clamp but no significant damage or excessive wear. The other clamp has been used and abused. There are weld and/or grinder marks. A previous owners initials punched into the steel and the screw has been cut off. Despite the abuse and damage, this second extra heavy duty clamp is still quite useable. Most of the items I sell are from estate sales. Auctions, flea markets, etc. I clean them as necessary to properly evaluate the condition and allow you to judge the actual ... moreitem rather than a previous owner’s dirt. Here we have a Vintage"Vulcan Heavy Service Clamp" Made by J.H. Williams& Co. Extremely heavy Duty Clamp. Drop forged in the U.S.A. Condition: Very sound and functional. Adjustable screw is lubed, Little bit of surface rust to clamp frame, and it seems someone at one time drilled a hole and put a bolt though it and bugger welded it on. You could probably grind that off your self to make it look better. Dimensions: Overall 8 1/4" x 6" Throat 3" x 2" Sold AS-IS.
