ABU GARCIA CUSTOM 6000C 6500CT CT ABEC-7 sweden ultracast conversion BLACK mag
Here is another VERY UNIQUE custom ABU by Reel Kustom reels. This is a vintage made in Sweden ABU GARCIA 6000C that has been custom configured as an ultracast reel. The original 6000c spool is not included in this auction- it is just there to showcase the difference between the original spool with a fixed axle and the free floating ultracast spool. This started as a real nice used vintage ABU 6000C with only a few minor marks-the black finish on this reel is in great shape for its age- only very minor handling marks from use-no corrosion or rash. The result of this conversion is a 4 bearing configuration on the spool. One in each side plate on the ends of the ultracast axle. And 2 in the spool. The bearings are all BOCA orange seal ABEC-7 ceramics. A new 6500 cs/ct axle was modified to fit the 6000C side plates. The spool is a new take off ... moreblack elite spool precision balanced ABU spool with a new 6 pin centrifugal brake. On the left side I machined a custom TITANIUM speed bushing to fill the void where the clicker drive cog would go. The result is a precision balanced spool running on 4 ABEC-7 ceramic hybrid bearings- it is significantly faster than the original setup.I can tell you the reels freespool is significantly better with the ultracast setup.The clicker button is there but it is not working since there is no drive cog. The frame is a nice used newer model 6500CT flat bar cage with"ABU GARCIA" etched in the front bar. There is no corrosion on the cage and only shows light wear from use. This is a very unique custom reel- basically I built it just to see if I could. The speed bushing replaces the nylon cog which acts like a wind brake during a cast- I did not fit a clicker cog to the ultracast spool- this reel is designed for long casts and the cog is not needed. This reel is supplied with the new style 6 pin brake. I can add a magnetic brake to this reel if the winning bidder wants one. This reel can be had with either a knobby"mono mag" or a 2 magnet center mag at an additional cost.

NIB ABU Garcia 6500C3 CT made in Sweden MAG ELITE reel on new GOLD low-rider QTC frame. This started as a new in the box 6500C3 CT mag elite. The ABU magtrax magnetic brake was swapped onto the QTC cage. The speed bullet was tuned and polished and the axle was polished. The spool is a gold ABU v-spool designed for braid- they are made a little heavier to prevent flex and distortion during a cast- the dimples in the spool keep braid from slipping on the spool. The bearings are un- shielded ABEC-7 precision hybrid bearings and they spin great. This is a sweet smooth custom reel built to fish. The ABU drag was super smooth and was left alone. The drag star is a large gold ABU aluminum star. The green ABU power handle and hardware match the frame nicely. This reel functions as good as it looks. The reel was spooled with line just for bench testing ... moreand has not been used or fished and comes in the original ABU mag elite box. The brakes pull real hard on this reel-the magnets are easily removed or added as needed for different situations. I like to run them with 1 magnet- this one comes with 2 installed. This reel had been handled and tested but never mounted to a rod. Fished, or used outside of my workshop- My reels ship with signature required due to cost. There is plenty of wear beginning with saltwater rash on the left inside spool, scratches, Abu Garcia logo fading on left sideplate, a large chipping of metal on the bottom right sideplate near the screw, and metal chips on the top left sideplate. Line Lb. to Yards: 10/170. 12/140, 14/115 Shows some Slight wear but overall very nice/Excellent condition. This Reel features: High Speed. Fully adjustable star wheel drag, Stainless Steel Ball Bearings and dual grip power handle. Adjustable brake- for backlash control. Spool release for casting works very well. This reel shows well but has a small amount of boat wear and/or nicks or scratches. All mechanical functions work very well. Mechanically this reel works well. A No catches or rough gear spots. Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 6500 C3 Baitcasting Reel Made in Sweden RUNS GREAT! This Abu Garica 6500 C3 is in great used condition and is running well. It looks like it has been more of a tackle box queen and hasn’t been fished much. A couple of the stickers show some wear and there are a few light marks in the finish. But the chrome is nice and bright, the endplates are in good shape, and the all-important Abu shield is present and accounted for! Mechanically it feels good and solid. The gears mesh as you’d expect from an Abu Garcia reel. The clutch is nice. Engages smoothly and with authority, and the drag system is working fine. It might like a quick wipe with a soft cloth, but that’s about it. Please take a look at the pictures for condition and in case I missed or forgot to mention something. Don’t hesitate to ask questions or for more pictures! ... moreI’m happy to help. But maybe not the best photographer. For some reason the camera flash made some of the pictures look a little more red, so I tried to include pictures both ways. Unfortunately, I needed to use the flash to show more detail.
