Here is a real nice clean custom Abu Garcia 6500c3 CT Mag Elite casting reel by Reel Kustoms. If you are familiar with what we do. Then you know that I feel the Mag Elite is the very best Abu Garcia ever had to offer- they are simply the best place to start when building a custom reel. If you start with a great reel then your finished product will be even better! This is a mild custom reel compared to some that we have built. It is a solid reel that is smooth, fast and ready to fish. This build started with a real nice used Made in Sweden Ambassadeur 6500CT Mag Elite. The reel is in its original box. I do not think these were very available in the USA(I bought some years ago here and they had been imported by the shop owner from England)and I imported this one from England. They have not been made in many years and I feel out of the box it ... moreis better than just about anything available these days. The reel is used and has some small nicks but it is clean with no corrosion or rash. If it was used, it was minimal and it was well cared for. The matching spool/star and power handle look great together, and even better against the beautiful green side plates and chromed frame. The spool is a flex free tournament casting spool. On the left side there is a custom brass"speed bullet" and no clicker. It is precision balanced and spins on ABEC-7 stainless bearings and has a 2 pin centrifugal brake. The ABU mag elite magnetic brake works great. You can run 0 to 6 magnets depending on how much braking you need. The magnets are east to change out, and the reel is supplied with 4 magnets.The color matched star and handle look and feel great. This power handle has a cool foam grip that is light and comfortable. The large green drag star does not change the drag- it functions like stock just looks better. This is a very nice clean custom reel that is ready to fish. It is used and is in great shape. The spool, bearings, handle and drag star are brand new. Here is a real nice used Abu Garcia Ambassadeur orange premium Mag Elite 6500C3 CT. This reel is in very good shape- there are some small nicks on the side plates. The 2 worst marks are on the bottom edges of both side plates- looks like marks from being set down on a hard surface while mounted to a rod- these are shown in the last 2 pictures. This is a very rare reel in the United States. I am not sure they were ever sold here. I import these from England- apparently these were a special item sold by a few tackle shops as a"limited edition" reel. They were sold by tackle shops that were considered a"premium stockist" of ABU Garcia reels based on their sales volume. A"premium stockist" could sell the orange Elite where a normal shop only had access to the green Mag Elite. The orange is much more rare than the ... moregreen reels. As far as I know they were never sold in the USA. The Mag Elite is my favorite reel to customize and after working on hundreds of reels I have said before that I feel the Mag Elite is the best reel ABU ever built. The fact that this is a cool orange color just makes it even better! Be the only person on your stretch of beach with a tuned ORANGE MAG ELITE! This reel is in great shape with minor nicks to the side plates. There is no corrosion on the reel and the chrome CT open frame is in great shape as well. The spool is a brand new ABU silver Elite with a 2 pin brake and BOCA orange seal ABEC-7 ceramic hybrid bearings. The bearings and spool spin on a precision polished ABU spindle. The orange seal bearings are great for fishing- the seals do not have any drag on the bearings and offer great protection from sand. Dust, dirt, salt etc. I build my reels to fish! The reel has the factory ABU magtrax magnetic brake which I feel is one of the best for someone new to surf casting. This reel was taken off of a rod that had been stored for several years in a dusty garage. It really needs to be cleaned. But it appears to work okay. Other than the wear to the paint mentioned above and the much needed cleaning, I see nothing wrong with it. I'm not sure when the reel was made, but I think it has a little bit of age to it judging from the wear to the red stripes(from lots of use) I will be listing a high speed Abu Garcia reel in another auction in case you are interested.
