Collator - Stitcher - Trimmer - 3 piece unit
Up for sale is a really nice"all-in-one" finishing tool for your office or shop. It is complete and was running when it was pulled from the facility. I am not a specialist or dealer of these items. But I did actually see it run before the place closed. In"layman's" terms, you put the paper in one end, and a booklet comes out the other! Obviously, you'd need to set it for your application, but I'm sure a church, school or small print shop could use one of these. I know this unit was purchased new for well over $15K, so this is a bargain! It has been in storage for a few years, so you will need to clean the dust and cobwebs out of it before you use it, but I have no doubts that it would work once you set it up. Latham Machy Co. Monitor No.1 Wire Stitcher Antique Industrial Steampunk
A fine old piece of American craftsmanship. This machine is heavy mostly cast iron. It has ornate handpainted detail and pinstriping. The front access cover is beveled glass. The drive system on this machine is gear driven. The motor looks like it has been replaced I suspect it was many years ago though. This machine works and creates small a oddly shape staple. I'm not certain how it was used to put together the magazines and books but when you plug it in and hit the trip it makes a staple. This is a wonderful example of a time when pride in craftsmanship was truly job#1 and not just a saying. The exact date is unknown to me. I could not find a date but it is definitely early 20th century. This machine does have some surface rust on it as can be expected for a machine around one hundred years old. The dimensions are height 50 inches ... morelength 34 inches width 24 inches. Weight is approximately 300 pounds. A curved one, and two straight(awl is shown closed in first scan, and then with the cap off where the needles are stored in the second scan) The instructions have been in the box forever(probably around 1950) so they are a little curly, but crisp and ready to go!
