I took this out of the box for the pictures and it appears to have not been used, but since I can't say for sure it is being classed as New Other. There are some minor scratches. This unit comes in the original packaging with all of the paperwork. The box does have some water damage, but nothing that came into box. According to the manual, when these machines are not used for an extended period of time, the rollers become flat spotted and will make a thumping sound. This corrects itself with use. Please ask any questions you might have. Make sure to look at the other items that I currently have listed. I mainly use Fed Ex even though the calculator shows it as UPS. The price will remain the same. I get far better service from them than UPS.

Dovetail Corners. Inset Brass Hinges, Incredible This is an amazing antique oak box that once held sewing machine accessories, as evident from the metal brackets of different sizes and shapes inside. The box is ingenious and finely made, with dovetail corners, and thin brass hinges that are inset into the wood. A clasp on the inside holds it shut. A groove on the outside allows you to pull open the"top" and the box opens out to a flat shape by means of hinges at all the edges. Four separate triangular pieces of wood on both sides of the box make it possible to open the box to the flat position. The inside is lined with a soft fabric, one corner of which is coming loose. The step stool is in very good condition and appears to have been re-painted many blue moons ago. It is a flat black paint with some chipping and paint splatters. It appears the top of the stool has a very old floor tile glued to it. The folding step mechanism works well, the stool is sturdy, weighing a hefty 12-1/2# It has utilitarian uses yet, or can be a new steampunk art form. My research indicates it's probably a Style 11 for the No.27 sewing machine. But I'm not expert enough to know for sure. Any help would be appreciated. I tried to put the various attachments in the proper places based on what I saw in various photographs of this type of box. I ended up with some extra pieces and some empty holders as shown. I think I'm mainly missing three screwdrivers and the long bobbins. And possibly a couple of set screws. I have three extra pieces that are unmarked. And another that is marked Greist Ruffler. Interestingly, my research indicates that a Mr. John M. Griest patented this box in 1889(the patent appears on the outside of the box) He later founded the Greist Manufacturing Company(using a different spelling of his name) The Ruffler has Patent 2593519 marked on it. The box has been varnished and has some wear to the finish as shown. It folds and the latch holds it closed nicely. The velvet interior is coming unglued here and there but is mostly fine. Another convenience is feeding and delivery on the same end, saving space and motion. The 714XE can handle coated or uncoated paper sizes from 3" x 5" up to 14" x 20" with an extra-long feed table to accommodate the larger sheets. Rack-and-pinion side guides with bias adjustments improve handling out-of-square paper. Also, the positive, dual-locking paper guides help maintain positive sheet registration. Ruggedly constructed, the 714XE features 1/4-inch thick tooling plate side frames and solid 3/4-inch tie bars. Heavy-duty 7/8" shafts are designed for easy removal.
