I was able to get this machine to bind properly in manual mode when I had the paper in the booklet and bypassed the 2 carriages. Feeding by hand this way. And everything worked perfect. When I tried to use it by only inserting the paper, it would bring the booklet over but give me a jam error. When you open it up there is no jam. Doing some research I believe that the booklets were stored improperly so have curl to them which will cause this error because the suction cups cannot pull the booklet open. I'm not 100% that is the problem but everything else looks fine and I'm 100% the booklets were not stored with care. There are a lot of them, and as I said work fine when you feed them in with the paper already stuffed in them, so I'm including them instead of throwing them away. Small Italian Roman Catholic prayerbook with silver back. Front and spine. This has no hallmark but I have tested it and guarantee it is solid silver. There is a mark in the bottom back corner which may be a hallmark I am unfamiliar with, see photo. The front has a round panel with an image of the Holy family and saint Anne'Ave Maria' is written under this. There is space inside a scroll for initials of the owner. This is blank. The rest of the panel. The spine and the back are all in the classic Renaissance Italian style.This features scrolls flowers and leaves. There is a further space for initials on the back. The prayer book is inscribed ... moreinside and was given as a gift to Alberto on the occasion of his first communion by Nonna Mariangela in 1927. I do not know if the silver was made in 1927 or before. The book was published in 1904. On close examination the damage is superficial and could easily be repaired. I could do it myself and any fairly skilled person could. I have not touched it as I want to leave the new owner with the choice of taking to a book binder or maybe using the silver for making another book The inside book is in good condition for its age. The endapers are OK. Between the endpaper and the cover has been a linen piece that covered the back, front and spine, this has held the book together and acted as a hinge. The linen has perished at the front. All that is needed is to dismantle- replace the linen and put back together. A lovely thing with some history. Size 12 cm high 6.5 cm wide 2cm deep.
