The abrasions are about three inches long and an inch high. I tested the binding function and it worked fine for me. Spinning the coil through the punch holes on the first attempt. I have not used another machine so I can not say. If it works exactly the same as one that does not have the abrasions. I have tried to picture the flaw. The stamps used for postage is identified in the Scott catalog as an illustration A25 three cent Washington that does not appear to have a grill. It is tied to the cover with a fancy compass cancel and the postmark is from New York dated 12 Dec. The envelope was opened roughly at the top, removing the flap. There are no contents. 74 State Street in Boston was the location where James McAdams ran a stationery business and manufactured blank accounting books. John McAdams was the holder of multiple patents for the machinery to number the pages in the books. Abraham Cohen sets out to introduce his readership to the worldview of classic rabbinic literature. The topics covered by the book are nearly as varied as the topics covered by the Talmud itself- covering everything from ruminations about God, including God's attributes and God's place in the universe. The bulk of the book, however, is not directly about God nor theology as such, though the remainder draws heavily upon the conclusions from the secitons focused on these subjects. The doctrine of man, revelation, domestic life, social life, morality, the physical life, folk-lore, jurisprudence, and the hereafter all receive significant attention by Cohen as he devotes entire sections to each. Although the book ... moreis primarily about the ideas contained in rabbinic literature, an introduction to the literary structure of the works of the rabbis, specifically the Mishnah, the Gemara, and the Midrash is also included. Industrial Dining Work Table Steampunk Vtg Book Binding Shop Antique
I'm sorry but I have to brag on this table just a little bit. It has to be one of the coolest pieces I have owned over the years I have been picking stuff. This came out of an old industrial book binding company in Indiana. This thing weighs a bunch and has a thick piece of what I believe is maple wood on the top, the top is 3 pieces joined together. The legs are thick heavy pieces of pipe. I am currently using it for my dining table but it could also be used in an office, garage, etc. There is no real what I would call damage on the piece, the wood is separating a little near the edge on one end where the piece on top come together and there is scuffs and scrapes and ring marks where it was used industrially but overall the piece has just a super look and just the right amount of overall patina, still a little old white paint left on ... morethe legs. This is not something someone created to get that look, this is the real thing, straight out of an old industrial building. The table is also sturdy and sits as it should. Measures 76 3/4" long. Stands 29 1/2" tall and is 35 1/2" wide. Horizon BQ140 perfect binding book binding machine
Used Horizon BQ140 perfect binding machine that has done books for the U.S. Army and the U.S. Supreme Court. Stored well-wrapped in a tobacco permitted facility for the last 5-6 years, it was unwrapped. Wiped down, and plugged in Wed. 8.27.14, it heated right up, and some notepads were made with it. Known issues: A minor cosmetic issue is shown in picture#2-the standby switch"tip" is missing-the switch works normally as it is. The paper dust vacuum is non-functional. However the previous owner discovered that it saved electricity to simply hook up a shop-vac to the BQ140(thus eliminating the turn-on power surge every time the factory vac activated for each bind sequence) It has only been run here for a few test binds when it was purchased, and made the best square spine binds I've ever gotten.And again on Wed. 8.27.14 to re-verify ... morefunctionality. But there is most likely paper dust in the 5-6 year old glue. So the glue pot should be drained and refilled with new glue pellets. Pick up only. Offering a pair of framed plates from a 19th century book binding catalog. With beautiful book binding patterns. Each page is identified as being"Middle Ages No. 2" pattern; also written in both French and German-see photo for detail. The prints were matched plates in the catalog, with both labeled as Plate LXVII. Each plate displays a number of different patterns in beautiful colors; golds, rose, crimsons, green, blues and black. I have included photos of each print separately, as well as detailed photos of the designs within each plate. They look wonderful displayed side by side on a wall. Both plates are framed with matching simple mahogany colored frames under glass. They are the same size. Measuring 10 1/2" x 14 1/2" to the outside of the frame and 8 3/4" x 13 13/4" to the edge of the print. The prints are ... moreboth in excellent condition; no staining, foxing, folds or fading.
