Stored well-wrapped in a tobacco permitted facility for the last 5-6 years, it was unwrapped. Wiped down, and plugged in Wed. 8.27.14, it heated right up, and some notepads were made with it. The size of the album is about 10" x 11-1/2" It has a unique wood hinge as shown in the 2nd photo and a tied binding as shown in one of the other photos. HALLMARKED MINIATURE BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER, HALF LEATHER BINDING, 2.1" X 1.9"
This is a miniature hallmarked silver book of common prayer. With the front silver covering depicting cherubs and angels, which in itself is not uncommon, but this particular design is not one I have ever come across before. The hallmarks consist of the letters BP DC, which I presume to be the makers, then there is a serial number, then an anchor, then a lion, then the letter E. It has a leather spine and back cover. With gilt lettering to the spine, and the page fore edges are gilt edged also, and still very bright, prominent, and unfaded. With tiny dimensions to the book of 2.1" x 1.9" x 0.5" thick. We have here a Vintage Cast Iron. Steel and Wood Adjustable Book Binding Press. The arms are steel. The base and screw portion is cast iron and the plates/blocks are wood. This was used for glue. There is old hardened residue on the wood blocks. It measures 23 3/4" to top of arms. 18" wide at adjustable height arm. 15" wide base. Wood block/plates are 12 1/2" by 7" It works smoothly. All screws turn and adjustable arms work. Blocks need a cleaning as they have glue residue. There is overall wear do to use. An antique and collectable"Bagpipe Music" book used for storing a pipers music notes or scores. The book has been filled in with music on a good section of the pages. The first 108 pages all have music on them along with the name of the reel.March etc. It then jumps to page 156 for a few pages, then on to page 205 where it has music to page 249. On the inside front and inside back covers is an index of the songs. It does have some pages missing on the book as well. The book itself is a leather half-bound fine binding with"bagpipe music" in gilt lettering on the spine and front board. It does have some wear and rubbing. Which I think would be normal for this learning tool. It measures 12 inches by 10 inches and would make a nice display piece as well as being collectable to the piping fraternity. This office book binder apears to be vintage and in good shape. It has been sitting in the office for a number of years and do not recall ever useing it. I dont know the first thing of how this works or how to use it, however the handle moves freely and moves the teeth on top when handle moves all the dials seem to move properly. I am selling this as is however it appears to be all there and working great. The plate on front says GBC COMBO there os a plate on the bottom that says its a model 222 KM. I am guessing this machine was built in the 50's or 60's but I could be wrong, it looks that old.
