Rare book binding gold leaf gilding brass type holder tool, binder hand pallet
This unique old book binder's tool was for holding typeface and then gently heated to impress gold gilded titles on book bindings. Quite unusual and hard to find! Measures 10" across and works smoothly. The heavy brass has not been cleaned up and retains its time-gathered patina. Nice wooden handle that has some scorching from being too close to the flame when heated. Overall a very nice tool in its original state of preservation.

Book measures 8-7/8" W x 11-1/2" H x 3/4" D. J oseph Binder(1898-1972) is widely regarded as one of the"Most Influential Modern Graphic Designers" He was born in Vienna. As a young man he apprenticed to become a lithographer and when he was twenty four entered at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts. In 1924 he founded. Vienna Graphics. Vintage New Holland Binder Machinery Price List Old Dealer Book Tractors Rare?
Interesting vintage binder here from the New Holland Company. This is an old one. Judging by the colors, font, and the logo at the bottom. It is farm fresh, so it needs cleaned up, but should make a great piece for a collection. There is a bit of cracking in the binding, shown in the pictures. I haven't touched this up at all, like I said, it is farm fresh out of a tractor memorabilia collection.
