This is an exquisite antique 19th century set of brass scale weights. the weights are set in a stunning handmade wooden box which is lined with purple velour…even under the weights. it is marked underneath"Made in Germany" and has nice bronze hardware on the front. the larger weights are made of solid brass and marked with weight measurements on the top of each. the smaller weights sit under a thick removable piece of glass and each have their own slots. in the front is a pair of tweezers to grab the small weights. the set is most likely made for measuring precious metals. it looks like a complete set but the tweezers are a tight fit and not sure if they are original the box measures 5 by 3 1/2 inches. in good shape. Here is a scale cover or guard from a jewelry gram scale. It is made of metal painted black with a glass top cover. It measures 6x6x2.75 inches. It has two bolt down holes 3.5 inches apart. I have no brand name or serial numbers to go by. The front glass part has been removed and is not present(to make for easier access I guess) This may have been for an older GIA gramscale. This listing is for a fantastic vintage set of Ohaus calibration weights. The weights. Which are made of brass, come in a wooden base box with slots for each weight. The 13 weights vary in size and include the following: 1 kg, 500g, 200g(x2) 100g, 50g, 20g(x2) 10g, 5g, 2 g(x2) 1g. A very nice piece for a collector! Measurements: Wooden base block is 8.5" x 4" x 1.5" inches. Condition: Good vintage condition. The only thing of note are that the 200gr weight(the one on the end) and the 500gr weight seemed stuck in their little slots in the box- I'm sure these can be wedged out. But we didn't want to risk damaging the box or the weights in the process so we are leaving this to the buyer. Damaged spot to the wood on one side of the block.
