Brass Apothecary Drug Scale Weights With Wood Box Description: Set of 8 solid brassindividual weights. The box itself is in functional condition with a working metal hook latch. And although the box is quite structurally sound it does have some expected significant cosmetic wear and tear on many of its faces and the weights are held in place within the box by wood. The weights themselves range from 5 gm to 20 dkg and are all made of solid brass. All have clearly seen frequent use but are in overall good condition with a nice old patina. this is 2 antique sets of apothecary scale brass weight boxed sets. the more complete set comes in a nice wooden box with brass hardware and a nice patina from age. it's marked Eimer& Amend New York on the top rim of the box. inside the box contains 10 removable brass weights housed by nice felt lined wood. and has two more compartments in the front probably for flat weights and tweezers. the other box is marked"General Laboratory Supply co. This is an exquisite antique 19th century set of brass scale weights. the weights are set in a stunning handmade wooden box which is lined with purple velour…even under the weights. it is marked underneath"Made in Germany" and has nice bronze hardware on the front. the larger weights are made of solid brass and marked with weight measurements on the top of each. the smaller weights sit under a thick removable piece of glass and each have their own slots. in the front is a pair of tweezers to grab the small weights. the set is most likely made for measuring precious metals. it looks like a complete set but the tweezers are a tight fit and not sure if they are original the box measures 5 by 3 1/2 inches. in good shape.
