this is 2 antique sets of apothecary scale brass weight boxed sets. the more complete set comes in a nice wooden box with brass hardware and a nice patina from age. it's marked Eimer& Amend New York on the top rim of the box. inside the box contains 10 removable brass weights housed by nice felt lined wood. and has two more compartments in the front probably for flat weights and tweezers. the other box is marked"General Laboratory Supply co. This is an exquisite antique 19th century set of brass scale weights. the weights are set in a stunning handmade wooden box which is lined with purple velour…even under the weights. it is marked underneath"Made in Germany" and has nice bronze hardware on the front. the larger weights are made of solid brass and marked with weight measurements on the top of each. the smaller weights sit under a thick removable piece of glass and each have their own slots. in the front is a pair of tweezers to grab the small weights. the set is most likely made for measuring precious metals. it looks like a complete set but the tweezers are a tight fit and not sure if they are original the box measures 5 by 3 1/2 inches. in good shape. Antique Chichester Chemical Co Prescription Weight Set in The Original Wood Box The top of the wood box is a brass plaque with the makers name. It has wear is dirty and has light tarnish. Measures about 5"s long 3"s wide. The set of weights looks complete to me but I have nothing to compare with. The box is dirty, has wear,scratches and the glue on paper is dried out as seen not attached anymore. The set is in good condition biggest issue is the tarnish on most of the pieces, I am sure they will clean up easily though, as they appear to be brass and 5 aluminum pieces.They also look a little dirty and have scratches.
