These meters were originally produced for use in CDV-781 aerial radiation survey meters built between 1965 and 1974. I have no idea how they ended up where I found them. But I rescued them in hopes that they can finally find a home. From all appearances, these were never actually used for their intended purpose, since the factory spring used to short the terminals during shipping is still in place on most of them. These were originally painted with luminous paint. But it only emits light for about a second or so after direct exposure to UV light. However, the paint still reacts quite well to UV light, producing a very bright orange glow with even the slightest amount of longwave UV. This meter is marked 0 to 10r/hr. In 1r/hr increments. See my other items for 0-0.1 r/hr and 0-1.0r/hr meters. There is a zero-adjust screw on the back of the ... moremeter and the needle deflects to full-scale at 100 microamps. These would be ideal for someone wanting to build his own Geiger counter with a cool retro look. The movement on these is slightly non-linear. But there's an easy way to compensate for that with a little math if you're going to be driving the meter from a PWM output or DAC on a microcontroller.
