Nickel Plated Calibration Weight Set in Original Beech Wood Box Please see the pictures for this item. The box is 7.5" X 3.5" X 1.75" I can't find a makers mark anywhere on this set. There is a glass lid for the smaller weights. Not sure if the smaller weights are all there. Please see the photos. In the well with the smaller weights there is a length of black thread, not sure of its use. One of the small, triangular weights doesn't have the weight stamped on it and appears to be homemade. I'm not sure of the age of this set, but the Beech wood box and the nickel plated weights appear to be vintage. I have added a picture of the bottom, which shows significant wear from age. This is a set of Vintage"Calibration Weights" in it's original case that was used in the Agriculture Industry in Texas. There were 26 weights to start with but along the way a 1/16th ounce weight was lost and a 8 ounce weight got added. There is some lost of plating on a few of the weights but will clean up real nice or restore if you wish. There is a Texas Dept. of Agriculture certification. Ref#4350, label taped to the inside of the lid, dated and signed by Dixie Terrell, Metrologist on 11/10/1980. At that time there were no weights missing or rejected. You can still see where she stamped the receipt on the lower left corner. Reagan V. Brown was the Commissioner. The original case is all metal with hinges and latches in good condition.
