Edwards EXT-250H turbo turbomolecular pump
Used Edwards EXT-250H turbomolecular pump with ISO100 flange. The pump does not spin smoothly. The rotor does turn but there is rubbing sounds. The rotor does not appear to have crashed. I will pack the pump properly with proper packing materials to cushion the pump. The box will be marked with this side up to protect the bearings. The pump is being sold as is with no returns. Edwards EXT70 turbo-pump. Splinter guard included. Tested under vacuum with an EXC100L controller(not included) spins up to full speed. The rotor spins freely. The rotor does touch off on the upper safety bearings during start-up as the pump passes through the mechanical resonance and the intake flange should be solidly mounted to reduce this. For sale is a used EXT250 Edwards turbo pump. Serial no. 016854843 It has been removed from a brain dead Q-TOF mass spectrometer. It is a used item meaning it spent some time spinning and listed as used. It has been tested to the extend our facility permits. The turbo pump inlet was attached to a vacuum chamber about 10L in volume and the outlet was pumped by a two stage mechanical vacuum pump. The controller controls the electrical supply to the pump with the exception of standby speed control. It has no manual controls and can only be operated through the logic interface. This pump and controller were harvested from a working Mass spec and will work as they should. pump was quiet with no vibrations while at operating speeds. The Agilent G2589-80062 turbomolecular pump is made from a multi-stage axial-flow turbine which is optimised for operation in molecular flow conditions. The drag pump is made from pumping channels formed by helical grooves. The drag pump is designed for operation at higher pressures than conventional turbomolecular pumps. The light alloy rotor is machined from one piece to form the angled blades of the turbomolecular pump. The rotor blades rotate between angled stator blades which are supported by spacer rings. The rotor and stator blades have an open structure at the pump inlet. And a more closed structure at the outlet.
