Very Clean Pumping System. This system only has 18.25 hours on it. Purchased from business liquidation. The turbo spins right up. The whole system was bagged and carefully stored when I bought it. Very minor scratches on the plastic enclosure. really nice unit! I will box it carefully and ship it insured. UPDATE 12/23/2013: I was able to put an Ion Gauge on the system for a couple hours and it pumped down real smooth to a base pressure 4.66 e-6 torr and still dropping. In lieu of traditional bearings this pump's rotor is magnetically levitated. Despite what you might think these pumps are very robust and forgiving. If there is power loss to the controller the spinning rotor generates its own power to keep the rotor in suspension until the rotor reaches a slow speed. Alcatel Turbo-Molecular Pump Model 5080
Nice Used Alcatel Turbo Pump Model Number is not shown. But I believe it is a 5080. Don't hold me to this.I'm not absolutely sure. The unit came from a surplus spares inventory. It has been shelved for a few years. The turbo fan is free-moving and and appears very clean. It had a tag indicating a new bearing was installed prior to storage with a date of 9/ 2010.so. The bearing probably needs to be replaced again. There are some supplemental hardware pieces that were attached and I removed for the sake of inspection and pictures.
