The Controller has a high-efficiency. Auto-ranging power supply which adjusts itself to any external electrical supply in the specified voltage range. The power supply converts the single-phase electrical supply into a regulated d.c. electrical supply to control the operation of the EXT pump. The pump has three Hall effect devices which operate as rotor position sensors. These sensors ensure that the drive current is correctly switched to the phase-windings of the pump-motor. The Hall effect devices also generate a speed signal which the Controller uses to regulate the rotational speed of the pump. The Controller has a secondary regenerative supply which uses the d.c. motor of the EXT pump as a generator. If the electrical supply fails. The regenerative supply provides the Controller with a back-up source of power without the need for batteries. The Controller uses the regenerative supply to maintain the electrical supplies to the vent-valve, air-cooler and AIM gauge(if connected) until the pump speed falls to below 50% of full rotational speed. The Controller has no front-panel controls and can only be operated through the logic interface. To operate the EXT pump. You must therefore connect the Controller to your own control equipment. Alternatively, you can configure the mating-plug for the logic interface connector so that the EXT pump starts to operate as soon as the electrical supply to the Controller is switched on. Edwards EXT-250H turbo turbomolecular pump
Used Edwards EXT-250H turbomolecular pump with ISO100 flange. The pump does not spin smoothly. The rotor does turn but there is rubbing sounds. The rotor does not appear to have crashed. I will pack the pump properly with proper packing materials to cushion the pump. The box will be marked with this side up to protect the bearings. The pump is being sold as is with no returns. It seems to be a good core pump for rebuild. If you select UPS ground. I reserve the option to ship UPS or Fedex. The pump itself weighs 18 lbs so shipping weight is about 22 lbs.

The light alloy rotor is machined from one piece to form the angled blades of the turbomolecular pump. The rotor blades rotate between angled stator blades which are supported by spacer rings. KF16 B722-26-991/ B72226991 Product Specifications The EXT70H pump is a compound vacuum pump that combines a turbomolecular pump and a drag pump on a single shaft. The turbomolecular pump is made from a multi-stage axial-flow turbine which is optimised for operation in molecular flow conditions. The drag pump is made from pumping channels formed by plane rotating disks. The drag pump is designed for operation at higher pressures than conventional turbomolecular pumps. The light alloy rotor is machined from one piece to form the angled blades of the turbomolecular pump and the disks of the drag pump. The rotor blades rotate between angled stator blades which are supported by spacer rings. The rotor and stator blades have an open structure at the pump inlet. And a more closed structure ... moreat the outlet. This configuration gives an optimum combination of pumping speed and compression when pumping gases of both high and low molecular weight. For the blades to be effective. Their speed must be close to the thermal velocity of the gas. The rotor of the EXT70H/Hi therefore rotates at up to 90000 r min-1. Gas from the inlet is compressed through each of the bladed stages of the turbomolecular pump and transferred to the drag pump. In the drag pump stages. The gas is further compressed as it is pumped around the channels formed by the separation of the disks. The inlet and outlet of each channel is separated by a close-running seal which diverts the gas through a port to the next channel, or to the pump outlet. The rotating assembly is supported at the inlet end by a frictionless magnetic bearing and by a precision ceramic ball bearing at the outlet end. The ball bearing is lubricated from an oil reservoir and wick mechanism. The EXT pump is supplied with an inlet-screen fitted in the bore of the inlet-flange.
